Anyone have Voodoo Blue interior trim?
OK here goes. My much-adored Voodoo Blue 981 Spyder has the carbon interior pack that the original buyer specced it with. This is all very well, but I would love to change it to be painted in the exterior colour because, well, it's quite a colour, and I think that look is really in keeping with the fun nature of the car.
I spoke to Suncoast who said the only way to order PTS interior trim parts from Porsche is as replacements for a car that was specced with them originally. So my questions are these:
1) Does anyone out there have A1-enough taste to own a Voodoo Blue Spyder with the 'painted in exterior colour' interior pack?
2) If so, would that excellent person be prepared to share their VIN with me in the name of enhancing the amount of beauty in the world, so that I might joyously bankrupt myself ordering PTS interior trim?
This feels like a pretty wild long shot, but hey if you don't ask you don't get.
Thanks!

Another idea MagicRat, if your search for the unicorn Voodoo Blue 981 owner (remember it could be a Cayman or Boxster. Interiors are the same are they not?) comes up empty is to purchase some replacement parts with no paint and send them to Bumperplugs for painting. They do a GREAT job.

For PTS cars... Only way to get exterior painted trim was to do a CXX (a special request custom tailoring direct through Porsche Exclusive). That was if you even knew the option was available as it was never publicly advertised. It set you back $2k+. I have seen very few cars with this (mine being one - Sport Classic Grey). Knowing very few PTS get produced... The chance of finding one will be next to none.

I think he was referring to the cxx ordering ordering process. Door panels should be the same all over. That's going to be the issue, as pointed out - you can't remove the door strip. So it's got to be painted on your panel or you'd have to order a whole new panel to send over to paint. Assuming you have the leather/alcantara upgraded interior.

You called Suncoast, but have you called the Porsche Experience folks to see if they could help you?
Seems crazy that you have to have the parts originally to reorder them.

MagicRat, in another thread MileHigh provided a link to a Riv Blue Spyder for sale that has matching interior trim:

It's not Voodoo, but it gives you a good sense of what you're trying to do. I think it looks great.

I find that hard to believe. The better question would be if it can be removed without damaging anything else. And I'd be really surprised if the answer is no. However, I'm almost sure as well that the factory piece would be ruined due to securing nuts not being removable, hence needing to break off the posts. Maybe that's what you meant. But if you have a new trim piece to replace it with, who cares? Good luck OP.
