Talking And the track build begins at BBI (987.2 Cayman S PDK)

The slippery slope started back in Nov 2014 when I picked up a 2010 Cayman S PDK with the goal of building into a track car. I started tracking it when the car was done stock and all the way to when I had all of the following mods installed...

Full brake upgrade (GT3 master brake cylinder, GyroDiscs, brake ducts, Endless pads)
Fabspeed headers and race exhaust (cats will be sliced off during the build)
EVOMS intake, software, and IPD plenum w/GT3 throttle body
JRZ Pro RS dampers with upgraded sway and monoball suspension pieces
KMP Motorsport detachable PDK steering wheel

Today BBI began the track build by stripping the car. They will be building the car to PCA spec including a full cage with nascar door bars, fiberglass Getty parts, full fire/safety, Sparco Ergo seat, remove power steering pump and AC condensing unit, coolers/upgraded radiators, and other odds and ended. Next up will be starting the cage work.

The following link has some pictures already ----> https://www.flickr.com/photos/bbiaut...7656541375575/

I'll also be selling off several OEM pieces so stay tuned.

The other day they dropped the engine and will take off the AC pump and Power Steering pump as well as taking off the headers to slice off the cats and wrap them. See picture below...

Which Endless compound are you using with the Giro's? I was thinking about trying the TRZ pads.

Endless brake fluid along with the ME20 pads but I also picked up a set of MA45B pads too.

If so, you can get some money out of the IPD plenum and the GT3 throttle body as not legal in GTB1 and get a good data acquisition system with sensors for it. Also be mindful that the Getty fiberglass stuff is limited to the rear wing and splitter. Can't use plastic doors, fenders or hatches. I found out the $$$ hard way. Good luck with your build. These are fun cars!

They're on the Club Racing PCA home page. The class was created for the ex Koni/Continental race cars we used to build and ex Interseries Caymans.

LOL!! You're too far away for me and my old Gen I 6 speed Cayman but it would be fun to meet someday.

BTW - it's not just the rules but also the proposed rules that are important for these builds. Walt Fricke has recently sent them around for comments. Some proposed to put the current generation Cayman into GTB1, which would obviously make all prior models totally uncompetitive.

john t and frank, thanx for the reply. i know the rules, i was just playing with trojan.
but like you stated. if they put current cay in GTB-1 then there is no competition. they should be in GTB-2

i dont really care THAT much. i just drive around for fun mostly now. i goto races to blend juices in my vitamix and do BBQ.

1/2 the trailer is food.
