If I could even get a dealer to talk to me about a euro delivery car - let alone PTS I would be a happy man.
I (and several of my cohort) have envisioned and discussed Turbo S's, Syders, et al here in Canada and the local dealers (eg MCL in Vancouver) quickly lose interest if you want to do anything other than "write a check and drive away".
I really don't understand why locals put up with this crap treatment and keep buying Porsches.
I am on my third Porsche but seriously doubt that any more on my horizon.
Forget Porsche, Merc et al these days boys - sales are too good right now - they frankly don't give a damn scarlet (or any other color for that matter) whether you buy their cars or not.
These days there are a billion guys with low interest lines of credit lining up to buy luxury cars. It's a seller's market in luxury cars.
Keep your wheels and bank your money - better days are yet to come.
Would one need to go to the factory to take advantage of the program? Are there any US dealers who know the program very well? I live near Champion, for example.

Carmel, you lucky devil ....
No and yes.
a) No, you don't have to go the factory. They probably wouldn't have time to sit down with you and teach you all the 'option' possibilities. You are first better off reading the threads here on Rennlist on 'Porsche Exclusive', PTS, deviating stitching, special requests, etc.
b) Yes, there are some US dealers that have recently (in the past year or so) have assigned specific dealer personnel to received special training from PCNA re: 'Porsche Exclusive'. These are apparently called 'Porsche Exclusive Flagship Dealers'. The latter will be identified by PCNA if you ask them since it was an educational program started by them to promote 'Porsche Exclusive' for their US customers. I believe Sonnen is Marin County, CA is one. The dealer in Rhode Island is another. I am sure they have one in Southern Florida near you!
c) Yes, there is usually at least one salesman at most dealerships that has done at least one customized order that includes 'Porsche Exclusive' options. The dealer ordering computers allow you to see options (such as deviating stitching, deviating colors in carpeting, deviating colors in seat inlays, etc) that are not seen in the internet Configurator. So you might be able to get some additional information from visiting just about any P dealer.
d) Yes, you can also contact directly the three individuals at 'Porsche Exclusive' in the US tasked with helping customers & dealers figure out the program. They are Matthew Henry in the West Coast, Melissa Witek in the East Coast and Barbara Boeckenhoff, its new manager, also based in Atlanta. They now call themselves 'Personal Design Specialists':
Eduardo, thank you for taking the time to make such detailed replies.
We would be happy to travel to Atlanta or LA to get the best information. I admit, however, that it wouldn't have disappointed me if you'd told me I had to go to the factory ....
I saw that turbo at the Parade last year and thought " Maybe PTS shouldn't be offered unless someone with good taste supervised you" The color is fine the interior colors are just a mess. Everyone that passed by it mentioned a variance of wtf.
I've only ordered a special color once, BMW. I got Estoril Blue on a M3. It was a hassle, expensive but so worth it when it arrived. I got most of my money back because it is a highly desired color in the BMW family of M cars.

estoril blue now available on semi M cars, like the M135i and M235i

Best, WCH
Make sure to get an appointment first! These PCNA 'Personal Design Specialists' also travel to the LA & Detroit Auto Shows, some of the Porsche World Roadshow track events, PCA Parade, Monterey Historics Week, Amelia Island, etc.

Some background when the 'Viper Green' 911 Turbo S first appeared at the Monterey PCA Parade in June of 2014:
And here is the person that special ordered the 'Viper Green' 911 Turbo S showcar for 'Porsche Exclusive' in the West Coast - former 'Porsche Exclusive ' US manager Sascha Glaeser. The latter loved those lighter color leather inlays on the 991's interiors:
The car looks great. Not a car for me because a basic Porsche in any of the basic colors screams look at me loud enough for my taste, but for those lucky enough to be around such special (read 'expensive') cars a lot perhaps taking it up a couple of notches is what it takes to get noticed and stand out. Definitely an original combination and I applaud the guts to put it out there. As a kid I grew up being driven to school in such one-off cars and at the time I would sort of wish I was in a plain Ford grenada or something less conspicuous. I've come around in my maturity to appreciate not to care too much what everyone else thinks as well as the importance of blazing your own path.
Not to derail this thread too much, but BMW of Indonesia just held an event to deliver a bunch of F82 M4s in Individual (BMW's equivalent of Porsche's PTS/Exclusive program) paint jobs to customers yesterday. They really are gorgeous, and many have the same paint colors as PTS options:
Fire Orange. Similar to Tangerine:
Signal Green:
Brilliant White. A more vibrant version of Carrara White:
Santorini Blue. Similar to Voodoo Blue:
Speed Yellow:
Purple Silk. A more vibrant version of BMW's Techno Violet:
Gray Black:
Salamanca Blue (in the background):
Jubilee Silver. A lighter version of GT Silver:
I know Porsche's production capacity is much smaller than BMW's, but as a prospective customer who is very interested in PTS, it'd be nice to see Porsche expand this program a bit more.
