Default Twins? Boxster with Carrera GT

Of course the new Boxster looks great, but I was amazed at how similar it looked to the Carrera GT. (seen at the ALMS race at Mosport)

Dude, I thought you were going to say that you own both... I was all, like, ready to say "I'll marry you if you let me have the Carrera GT!!".

And, no, no.... I don't swing that way.

Cool pictures. There are definitely similarities. Imagine if they made a 981 spyder...

Fixed it for you.

I agree, a 981 Spyder with real weight savings and unique appearance would be a stunner.

Nice to see some side by side pics, indeed so many similarities.

A few mods to the 981 boxster and it will just be even more amazing!

I wonder how far apart the performance figures will be between the Boxster and the CGT as the 981 gets closer to the end of the life cycle. Thinking out loud, I would expect to see another 50Hp in the 981 and eventually the addition of lightweight features of a Spyder. Wow, maybe I may need to upgrade eventually. My wife would kill me!

I like the 981 more every time I see one. Always been a 911 buyer but that may have changed for good. The 911 in those photos kind of disappears into the background for me.

That's the beauty of Porsches, wait long enough and the super car stuff trickles down into the mid-engine production cars.

Remarks like yours must scare the hell out of Porsche. The intent of the Boxster wasn't to cannabilize 911 sales.

I think the problem is they keep stretching the 911 so much that it's starting to not look like a 911 any more.
