We just got new goods from the guys at Remus USA for your Boxster or Cayman.



This brand new Remus Titanium system is 27 Lbs lighter than stock, and features 60mm main tubes vs. 54mm stock, and has a gorgeous shot-peened finish with 98mm brushed Titanium Tips.



The stainless ‘race’ version we’ve seen posts where guys have gotten 15 – 18 H.P additional over stock; this “Ti2” ‘race’ with the 60mm tubes should perform even better

Regarding the "race" version, is it street legal and do you have a "street" version also?

race is the version without resonators...legality depends on your local noise ordinances, so unless you're showing your cheeks on the streets, you should be fine in most areas... just my personal opinion though

Looks great but my driving skills are nowhere near feeling the impact of 27 lbs of weight loss. What I do like is the weight reduction is in the lower rear of the car which should greatly help the front to rear weight ratio vs a mod like changing the battery up front which reduces weight up front even though it is higher in the car. Weight is weight but where it comes out is equally important.

I've heard some discussion about the Remus experiencing the dreaded cruising speed drone associated with many aftermarket exhausts. Remus themselves suggesting this is not unusual.

I understand that may be the case with the Cayman, but will it be the case with a Spyder? With no top or permanent enclosure to resonate the sound?

Anyone have any direct experience or thoughts?

Any Non-Resonated system will drone somewhat, but the amount is subject to change per application. I think you may be on to something with the cabrio not having the same drone effect

I have the stainless steel version of the Remus on my spyder, and there is zero drone. In fact, I think the exhaust is too quiet on the car and wish I had gone louder.

My car is running race cats and the Remus race muffler. There is actually very little drone. It's relatively tame and quiet enough for long trips (this is on a Boxster S, so car has more noise than Cayman).

I agree, based solely on the videos I have seen. Almost sounds too quiet. Is there a way we can have that throaty sound all the time on cold starts with the stock exhaust?

Made the mistake of calling GMP to ask questions about the Ramus system. That was a mistake. The young man, who identified himself not by name but by "I'm the most knowledgeable associate here" could or would not answer any question I asked him but instead kept telling me things not specifically related to the questions I had asked. Over the years I have bought from GMP and been very happy with the transactions BUT this was not enjoyable. I asked simple questions all relating to putting the titanium system on a base generation 2 Cayman.

1. what is the weight savings over stock?

2. what if any is the Hp and torque increase and where in the RPM curve does it happen?

3. what is the max "db" noise factor as read/ heard from outside the car, and at what distance?

4. What and how noticable is inside drone at say 2000-2500 RPM as this is the normal cruise RPM at 70-75 mph (yes 75b is legal in Texas)

He would not or could not answer any of these.

Before I spend that much on a system I want to know a little about it and what to expect beyond increased sound.
