Sorry, you want to buy a tire for a Cayman for reliability and looks?
Are you interested in performance at all?
Most modern tires are reliable, unless you like really cheap retreads from China?

Just take a look at the Performance tests and reviews here and you can may your pick. Generally performance and longevity and inversely related so you'll need to decide what balance is acceptable for you.

This is spot on...
I bought PS2s because of their general performance vs. cost.
There are other track-centric tires available, but as an all-rounder the Michelin are great!

I never considered their looks.

I also vote for the Michelin PS2’s. I’ve lost count of how many I’ve purchased over the years for my 996 and have been very happy with them year round (although no snow in the SF Bay Area). They wore out too fast on the track (probably my fault) and next time I plan to put on some other tires specifically for the track.

Funny thing about looks; my wife’s 987.2 2010 boxster base came with continentals on it from the PO and I honestly hated the way they look. Finally the rears wore out (yippee!) and I put PS2’s on and Voila! Not only do they feel better driving, they look better too. Can’t wait until the fronts wear out so I can replace those too.

+3 on PS2's
As long as your not out for track records, they work well hot at 37 lbs.

The PS4S was released in 2017 as a replacement for the PSS and the PS2. It seems to be an improved tire all around.

I have them and they're very good (much better than the Bridgestone Potenza S-04 that were on the car when I got it) but not the choice if you're optimizing for tire life over performance. Warranty is 15K for staggered fitments like the Cayman.

+1 for PS4S
Have used them on both my Cayman and my Audi S6 (both cars on street and track- yes S6 on track!)
Great tires with surprisingly good wear for the 4-6 DE events I do per year.

Had a set of the PS2's and thought they were a great tire. Until...

wait for it...

I put on the PS4S's.

The rumors are true. Better in every way. Just impressive.

Disclaimer: I do not track these tires, not sure how they compare after a good bit of heat cycling under track conditions.

i'll chime in here because i also want feedback.
first P-car and it came with PS2's N4 rated. The tires are shot on the outside shoulders and I need a replacement. I don't care much for all season crap. performance is important, i'd say road noise to a small extent after that. I don't wanna roll around on slicks.
are the PS4's really better than the PS2?

This is how they've wore on my 987.2

Another vote for PS4S. Have them on both the 911 and CS
