Unbelievable roads in eastern Utah and western Colorado today- these pix are on the way to Moab off I-70 west of Grand Junction, CO. Got stuck in road construction for these pix. Then Gateway canyon on the way back to Grand Junction. Great exercise for the Spyder- first time I didn't mind the gearing as some of the roads allowed real "cruising."
These were "bucket list" roads with more to come tomorrow on our way to Aspen. (One of the cars is a new manual ZR1 and it does sound nice when really on it. Of course, the new GT2 RS sounded REAL nice too!)
The LWB's are a little questionable for long trips, especially for my wife with the fire extinguisher on the pass seat. I'm sure she'd like a little reclining now and then. I can tolerate them...
Yearly Peak to Peak Rallye that started in Golden, CO.

Damn. Looks like you've got ideal weather. Skies can not get any more blue. Stunning scenery! Would I be correct that you are the lone Spyder on the trip?

Thanks for sharing and continued enjoyment of the Rallye.

More great roads- rained today Car has never been this dirty! Used the windshield washers for the first time and wasn't sure they'd work!

Only Spyder in our group but did run into another group staying here in Aspen on the Santa Fe 500 and they have an agate grey Spyder- met the driver in the elevator... pretty impressive parking ramp at the St. Regis tonight.

Buy the seat angle adjusters from autoquest. Dramatically improves the seating position and comfort. Your wife will thank you. -> https://www.autoquestcars.com/custom-07

Well, the rallye ended with an interesting note... Independence Pass was first off on the way out of Aspen. Beautiful drive and great colours!! Ten miles later when driving into Leadville the tire pressure monitor came on saying I had 4 lbs in left rear tire. Pulled into gas station with the 4 of us traveling together from Scottsdale. (3 Porsches and a Corvette). A little investigating showed inside of tire down to cords and blown!! Rt. rear not much better... felt like an idiot as I hadn't checked the tires as it only had 5K on it when we left. I knew from experience with my .2 GT3 that rears didn't last long but the Spyder was never tracked or autocrossed, etc!! So spyder owners, PLEASE CHECK YOUR REAR TIRES!!
If that had happened on the top of Independence Pass 10 miles earlier I would have been stranded as trucks etc can't go up that part of the road!! And NO cell service!!

Luckily the ralllye had a support vehicle with enclosed trailer 2 hours away which hadn't been used yet on the trip and he detoured and picked my wife and I up and trailered us to a Discount Tire store in suburban Denver and they found 2 new rear Pirellis. Back in business that late afternoon for an uneventful return to AZ the next day... somebody was definitely looking out for us!!
Also found out the toe hook threads are reversed!! That took several of us a while to figure out... I know, RTFM...

Not the prettiest back drop, but my condo garage is probably about 90% as pretty as any other backdrop in this state of the hanging Chad.

The wife loves giving pics some artsy edits.

3 years. 18,000 miles (ugh there goes the value). Zero regrets. 981 Boxster Spyder. There is no substitute.
