The funny thing about 'Yachting Blue' leather is that it was probably the LEAST ordered interior on the 991.1 model
when it was offered. In the photo above it looks wonderful in a cloudy & nebulous way. That's just great photography.
But the reality when actually seen by the human eye on a Porsche interior is somewhat less positive. Hence it's rather
poor 'take-rate'.

On a different subject. Has anyone received yet an actual allocation for a 2020 718 Spyder? I heard here in this
forum that first order slots for US dealer would be handed out in July of 2019!

Thanks Steven. Hopefully as soon as the first ones are handed out
someone will post it here to alert others. I am #2 at a decent size
dealer so I expect an early 'call'.

I think you guys are making my point (which perhaps wasn’t clear from my post) about the value SCI presents. Specifically, SCI is only $2,800 compared to the cost of the Leather/Alcantara interiors with red, yellow or grey contrasting stitching at $3,660. So you pay $860 less for SCI and yet Porsche didn’t scrimp on the Alcantara in the SCI. You still get it on all of the surfaces you do with the higher priced Leather/Alcantara/Deviated Stitching interiors.

Plus, with SCI you’re getting a two-tone interior, something which historically has usually been priced higher in the Porsche world. Or, to look at it another way, with SCI you’re getting seats with deviating color inserts, which, again, is usually an upcharge.

Also, with SCI on the 981 you got carpeting in a color (black) which deviated from the Garnet Red seat color and I suspect the same is true for the 982 where I’m guessing you will get black carpeting despite the Bordeaux seats. Again, deviated carpeting is something you usually have to pay more for in the Porsche world, but it is part of the SCI package.

To me, you pay less for SCI, you get more features that you otherwise would have to pay more for, and Porsche doesn’t cheap out by reducing the amount of Alcantara in the SCI cabin compared to a car with Leather/Alcantara/Deviated Stitching.

UPDATE:
Looks like Porsche updated the pricing for the Leather with Red/Yellow Stitching and Solid Black Full Leather with no contrast stitching. They are now ALL $2160... No longer are they three different prices. The Spyder Classic Package continues to be $2800. Makes me wonder if there are any other price changes that were updated?

$2160 plus $1500 for deviated stitching.

Only black stitching leather interior is $2160.

add $3230 for stitching other than red/yellow/grey

To the extent the post below could be erroneously construed as quoting me having said, "SCI isn’t my cup of tea... I like the red concept... it’s just not done right. I prefer the RS60... it’s the most accurate from a heritage standpoint," I just want to clarify that I did not say that. I'm obviously a huge fan of the Spyder Classic interior (SCI).

Actually Black with Silver Deviated stitching is cheaper than red or yellow.... $2160.

Interesting to see the increase in option prices on the 982 over the 981. Some examples:
  • LWBs were $4730, now $5,900 (increase of $1,170)
  • PCCBs were $7,400, now $8,000 (increase of $600)
  • Spyder Classic Interior was $2,590, now $2,800 (increase of $210)
  • Bose was $700, now $990 (increase of $290)
  • Leather w/red/yellow deviated stitching was $2,160 + $1,040 = $3,200, now $2,160 + $1,500 = $3,660 (increase of $460)
And let's not even discuss what the difference in cost will be for PTS, if offered.

D, no worries! I know it was a goofy formatting issue. Thanks.
