Can't wait to drive a manual again. PDK was fun...but not as engaging
Congrats!

Thanks Pete, and thanks for the PM about the LWB. Your contact was very helpful and friendl y, but my local dealer was able to get me a slot. This will be my first "new" car since my 04 TSX in college.

I was debating between the GT4 and the Spyder, but couldn't find a GT4 for MSRP or a slot for a build. GT4 is a better bargain (and will for sure appreciate in the long run) if you can get it at MSRP. Definitely more hard core, but I fell in love with the Spyder's looks. Lol maybe they should of made a Boxster Spyder/Targa.

This will be my second drop top since the S2000 (which I eventually bought the hard top cover cause it looked sexy as a coupe)

I can't wait to drive a manual sports car again. I missed manual since my Z4MC and my S2000 (IMO world's best shifter). All my sports cars have been manual except my Porsches.

PDK was fun on my 09 Cayman S and 14 Cayman S, a lot easier on track days, but kinda boring around town.

From what Melissa says at Porsche Exclusive PCNA, PTS will not open up again. It is closed for the remainder of production. Only 22 PTS Spyders were approved from Porsche AG. Not sure on the LWBs, I wouldn't hold my breathe though as there is a huge backlog from GT3RS's and GT4's.

Talked to my salesman yesterday and it's still in V170. He says all the PTS will probably go V200 about the same time. Guess I'm lucky I got PTS and LWB - timing must have been right!!
He's thinking V200 in early Nov with delivery sometime in March- that means I won't be driving it for a while after it comes!!
But a road trip to AZ later in the spring sounds pretty damned good!!

Not at all criticizing but would like to know the logic of ordering dual climate on a small cabin open roadster? And at almost $800.

If you use a/c often or if you live somewhere where it rained frequently it would be worth it.
Honestly, almost never used it on the S but it's a dry moderate climate here in CO.

I've been considering the option. Do you know if the manual AC is just hi med and low with no temp settings or does it just lack dual zone mode?

Two separate controls on the manual a/c.
One for fan speed, one for temp.

Actually, it's one for fan speed and one for cold hot. It doesn't actually have a thermostat to control for temp.

correct, this means the system puts out heat/cold according to setting regardless of interior or any other temperature.

Some of us from experience chose this because we get tired of fidgeting with the controls; maybe we're extra sensitive. The lack of insulation is going to be an issue for me I suspect because of the cold winters here in the north east so that too was a determinate.

The only reason I got it is because you can set the temperature. I don't care about the dual zone stuff, but I have manual A/C in my van and you end up constantly fiddling with it because of too hot/too cold/too hot/too cold ...
