gunna be kinda awkward when their NY show car had buckets and all the press cars (probably will have buckets) and no one will be able to actually get them....

That's actually incorrect based on a conversation I've had with a 918 owner.. Has an order for a PTS Spyder with LWB... As soon as he gets it (late fall?) I'll see if I can get pics.. But seems like they do get them.

figured they would probably be able to get anything that they wanted
should have just bought a 918 so I could have any porsche with whatever specs/ colors I wanted for the next decade.

was supposed to be sarcastic, obviously didn't come off as that lol. One great thing that the 918 vip program will yield is an AWESOME collection of PTS and exclusive optioned used porsches down the road that will pop up on the used market eventually.

Stopped in to chat with my dealer today and we noted that my build had been moved from early September to early October
Delivery was to be October 10th now is November 20th
No word on any time for cars to be released to the press
Dealer still has only gotten one Spyder and three GT4 allocations no change.

i remember reading on a different forum that the spyders were all being delayed..... i really hope that won't happen. Anyone else experiencing similar delays?

Are you in the UK? That is the only region that I'm hearing that has had some delays.

i'm located in Connecticut and was told secondary to production delays at Porsche
The delay till November impacts the great Fall season driving in the Northeast
Fortunately this will be my daily driver and i'll just put a set of 19" rims with snows
