Just wondering if my dealer is hedging because June is when the reviews will start to come out and it may be my dealership wants to keep their options/allocations open for valued clientele? Again, I'm just thinking out loud here. I'm so chill when it comes to these sorts of things that I'm not even sure I want to hassle with an out of town dealer even if it's nearby. I don't need even need a car at all but I'm trying to make sense of the situation which is sometimes difficult with car dealerships.

Anyway, I get emails from various dealers all the time asking if I need anything, so I just wrote back to one asking about available Spyder allocations and sure enough they had one available which is why I posted.

Well, they're just being a little vague. Nothing is definite. Instead of saying that I HAVE an allocation, my SA uses qualifiers as if it's still open or in question. I guess if I had to put it in words it's like "hopefully I will have an allocation for you in July for a [insert month] build and [insert month] delievery". Again, I'm not blaming anyone, it's just everyone else seems to be getting direct confirmation of an allocation and my SA seems to be hedging. Again, this is a large dealership with what I'm sure are loyal clients and I'm just a first time buyer so I understand, but just want clarity.

Ah, Thanks for clarification. if you want the car and can get a guaranteed allocation for the same price go with the other dealer. The original dealer should know by now if you had an allocation and I'm guessing you're right.. they're waiting on a response from someone else. Not like you owe them anything.

Ok... We have someone that has a February allocation? My question is which country and are you sure that this isn't the delivery month, not build month??? I only ask because I haven't heard of any build allocations beyond December. Whoever voted February, please chime in... Very curious about this

As far as I know, no dealer in the US has been allocated calendar year 2016 production start allocations yet.
(Of course, my information could be outdated.)

How does a beautiful blue puts spyder like that just appear on a street? I thought they weren't in production yet and pts wasn't available?

Well guys, I have changed my order http://www.porsche-code.com/PGH4SKW7
After some research and talking to my salesperson, I settled on this one. Unfortunately quite a few of the really nice options carry pretty much no value when trading in. The Spyder will be a fun and great little car but I really want to get into a GT. So in the next year or so, if and when I receive a allocation I just wanted to keep the depreciation as painless as possible. I even went with the AC but I will probably never use it.
