Default My 1st Porsche Ever (981 Cayman)

Hey guys,

After a long 2 months of waiting, I finally got my 2014 Cayman. This is my very first Porsche and these damn mid-engine cars are a blast to drive.

I am a cheap **** so it is the non-S. Here are the order details:
  • Dark Blue Metallic
  • Standard Interior Sports Seats in Luxor Beige
  • 19-inch Boxster S wheels
  • Convenience Package
  • Bose Infotainment Package
  • Sport tailpipe
  • US Mill Works Front License Plate Tow Hook :-)

Let me try to upload the photos now.

Love the dark blue!
Can you mow with it, lol?!
I'm very happy with the Boxster S 19" wheels, but I find them surprisingly hard to clean behind the spokes. It looked like there would be more room than there is for my hand.
Congrats!

@keadog, I was also warned by my awesome salesman to not use an acidic based wheel cleaner as it wii stain the black brake calipers. He gave me the wheel cleaner as a gift. What do you use?

Definitely avoid any acid based wheel cleaners!!! I was using a well known "safe for all wheels" product and it started to leave residue (looks like white stains) on the black calipers of the 981. After removing all the wheels and spending several hours scrubbing the calipers, washing and waxing the wheels, all is back to how it should look. But what a PITA. I now use only soap and water, and reach into the wheels with a damp rag to clean the inner wheel surfaces. Not as quick and easy as a spray, but does not leave any residue on the calipers.

Me too (Boxster). Thought I would regret my decision but it's been more than a year and I haven't yet. I've had a dozen Porsche's, this is one of the classics.
