Agreed. I love Aqua as a color.

It looks great on the open cars. It was just a little to inconsistent (from panel to panel, and car to car) on the closed cars I've seen it on (RS and CaymanR) for me to order it on my CR - and I was looking for a blue. The open cars don't have as large an expanse of color, so I'm not sure if it wasn't a problem on them or just wasn't as noticeable - or just the way it looked to me.

Sapphire looks like it could be a nice color.

Eduardo, how does Sapphire compare to the 50th Anniversary PCA 911 color?

Default Sapphire vs other 'Blues'!

I'll let you judge. It was named 'Azurro California', to remind folks of a color called 'Azure Blue' used by Porsche around 1954/1955 when PCA was founded -September, 1955- by Bill Sholar! 'Azurro California' is a beautiful hue - but it doesn't look anything like the 356 'Azure Blue'! I had a '54 Cab that darker, no-metallic color so I know it from personal experience what that looked like!

First attached photo is of PCNA's press release re: the MY2006 PCA edition 997 - one of fifty produced and allocated to members via a special lottery. Second photo is one I took of the PCA 50th Anniversary edition 911 that attended the '12 PCA Parade in Salt Lake City last year! Third photo is of the 'Sapphire Blue Metallic' gt3. Fourth photo of an earlier Porsche 'Minerva Blue'.

Saludos,
Eduardo

PS. M3 fans might also remember an 'Estoril Blue Metallic' BMW offered in MY1997 which reminds me of this color. It was lighter than my MY1995.2 'Avus Blue Metallic' M3, one of my favorite cars from years past!

Yup. The current Estoril Blue offered in the 3 series isn't bad, but it's not quite the same as the E36 M3 variant. That was a gorgeous blue. My favorite all time would be Laguna Seca Blue from the E46, especially when paired with the Cinnamon leather interior (rare in this combo). First E46 M3 I ever saw back in '02 was that combo, haven't seen another in person since.

Seeing Eduardo's picture of the Minerva Blue brings back some memories of my old car. Probably shouldn't have sold it, but live and learn I guess.

Thanks Edcuardo! I knew that you'd not only know, but have pics.

Our 97 M3 sedan is Estoril blue and it is a great color.
