Default Proud New Owner of a 981 Boxster S!

Hi everyone!

I’ve been on Rennlist for a couple years now, and throughout that time have always wanted a 981 Boxster. And today’s the day when I made that dream a reality - I’m so so happy to finally be the owner of a 2013 Boxster S!

- White on Black
- 20” Carrera Classics
- PDK
- Sport Chrono
- PASM
- PSE
- Infotainment w/ Bose
- Premium Package with 14-Way seats
- Bi-Xenon with PDLS

This car popped up at a local dealership, and the moment I saw the options list, I knew I had to jump. The price was reasonable for this market, I think - $45k with 60k miles, detailed service history, and an exceptionally clean PPI (only thing of note was the car had an aftermarket battery, which the dealer then replaced with an OEM one).

I drove it for 5 hours today on a mix of roads, and it’s been everything I hoped it would be. The PSE is fantastic - loud when you want it to be, muted when you don’t. The handling and responsiveness are worlds beyond my now-traded BMW 435i. The PDK was the most positive surprise - I ended up going with PDK since this car will be my daily, but wasn’t sure how I’d like it since I was coming from a manual. Super accurate, super responsive, and the sound when shifting is incredible. Totally happy with it.

There are a couple (minor) mods I’m thinking of making down the road. Main one is swapping the base steering wheel with the SportDesign (I’ve actually gotten used to the thumb shifters, but would probably prefer real paddles). I also might add an FVD tune and a Soul X-Pipe down the road, but that’s it. For now, though, I’m just super happy, and excited to learn about it with you all!

She’s beautiful!!! Something about a white 981 B/C…just perfect. The silhouette and the lines just pop. Enjoy every mile.

And you need to swap out he yellow side marker lights for clear. Check with Suncoast. Car looks/sounds terrific. Enjoy your permagrin!

Congrats. I've had mine for just over a month now and yesterday was nice enough for a top down lunch run to St Augustine. It was such a fun drive.

Our cars are very similar: https://rennlist.com/forums/981-foru...or-forums.html

I didn't realize without the sport wheel you had buttons rather than paddles. I'd have to agree paddles are MUCH better. Knowing me I'd want to hit a crucial downshift and instead change the radio station.

The performance exhaust is super cool. Above 5 grand it really sings.

Good luck with it. Bet you're still smiling.

McGary911: You owe me a beer! Spat mine out laughing at that…

Thanks everyone! I honestly still can't believe that it's mine when I see it in my parking spot. And good point on the side markers - I'll definitely switch those at some point.

Random question: does anyone know if it's possible to swap out the seat centers for a different color? The black is fine, but I'd like to liven up the interior a bit with a deviated seat center if it's not too costly.
