I got version 37.250 plan to test on next couple days. Not sure will work but anyway let us try
in parallel I got PIWIS 2 SW for free and found VCI for it for ~ $420. The only need additional would be a laptop which can cost used $200. If somebody is interested on PIWIS 2 let me know as could help to setup it up.

 

few updates ... today I was able to use pw3 but with database for pw2 in order to test if the SW could be the issue .... unfortunately I continue to see the same message Sport+ off. I start to guess maybe the code I have wont activate it. For the colleges who were successful could share where did you get the codes from?
Now on pw2 system I finalized the installation on laptop ... just missing the interface. Somebody interested to share cost?

 

On my previous post I tried to activate sport+ using pw2 data on pw3 software. The application worked perfectly but unfortunately didnt yield different results ... still not able to activate sport+. Today I realized didnt try in E mode ... so went back and try to active sport+ using pw2 database but in E mode .... unfortunately no changes. At this point I am disregarding that pw3 or pw2 makes any difference .... it seems to be more related to code I am getting.
I went back and confirm the code I have works for PCM and my VIN. Some people reported the same code worked for both (PCM and BKE) but others it doesnt work.
At this point the only alternative is to continue to learn for those successful cases (HW number, SW number, code, process ... ) so others could also enjoy it.
Please share your story if you can.

 

As stated previously I purchased two codes from completely different vendors for Sport Chrono activation. They both provided the exact same codes against my VIN.

One vendor stated it should work in both the PCM and the A/C Control (BKE)... the other said the codes were 'cracked' for the PCM. For me the codes worked perfectly in my PCM, unlocking multiple features, but not in the BKE.

I gotta wonder if there might just be different codes for each module?

Would be interesting to know where folks with successful SP+ activations got their codes. My codes that were successful in unlocking PCM features came from ElektroServis Automotive on Facebook...

 

Unfortunately all the sources I found for codes confirmed it would work only for PCM ... .leading me to believe code for BKE is a different and nobody so far was able to get access on it. Hopefully we will see it soon

 

There MUST be a source if folks have truly been able to activate SP+....

l am also wondering if there is something important about the sequence for the process. I have tried several different paths, but wonder if I just haven't found the 'right' sequence yet.

 

I agree. To be realistic Cayman platform doesnt seem to be the most popular around Porsche so knowledge and market offers becomes limited in some cases ... maybe that is what we are experiencing here.
Will keep looking for and hope to get more knowledge about the topic.

 

I think that if you find anything on the 991.1 forums about activation of the sports plus feature it should also apply to the 981 Cayman/Boxster platform. The 991.1 and 981 use the same PCM3.1, SC clocks, console switches and similar control units.

I talked to them. it is bypass solution what is already a red flag for me at least .... doesnt garantee PDK maps, PSC, .... not considering .... besides the price.

I really dont know what they guarantee ... maybe launch control? Anyway I am not planning to bypass controls to on the car to have sport+ function in a way not defined by Porsche.

 

I took a look on 991.1 ... it has the same challenges as 981 .... no retrofit from Porsche and same procedure regarding SW upgrade .... more and more I wonder if people are really getting this done. Or they are so shy and dont want to talk about it.

 

Hi all. I was just revisiting this thread and I noticed this method only needs the activation code for the PCM and skips inputting the code into the A/C unit, which is where everyone seems to be getting stuck at. Has someone tried this recently or am I missing something obvious?
