Oil recommendations for 968 with 60,000 miles on the odometer?

There are a few good oil threads in the generic 924/944/968 section of the water cooled area.
In general and my opinion, if you dont drive it much, use Dino oil and change it yearly. If you're a baller on a mission, go synthetic.

A pretty subjective matter I guess - everyone has their favourite. A high quality modern synth will be fine on that sort of mileage - at that high level, sticking to mineral-only isn't really as compelling as it used to be (despite there being a market in 'classic oils'). However, go cheap and you'll get what you pay for...
After conversations a year ago with the Millers tech guys, both my 964 and 968 are now driven hard on Millers CFS 10w50. IMHO, if it's good enough for Tuthill Porsches and their East African Safari challenges and other cross-continent events, then I'm covered. http://www.millersoils.co.uk/automot...tor=Motorsport
Again, many will come back with other thoughts and preferences. My thoughts; you have a great car with awesome engineering pedigree, why cut corners (not suggesting you would) or go plain normal...

My old school, independent, former Porsche dealership mechanic puts 15-50 Mobil 1 in mine. He recommends it because (supposedly) it has higher zinc content than some of the other weights ... although it may not have as high as some other brands.
My car is a 94 cab, has 82,000-ish miles ... It gets 3,000 - 3,500 miles per year and the oil gets changed once per year.
It's actually in right now for oil and filter change, coolant and brake fluid change, repairing a few minor oil leaks, and new timing belt and balance belt ... and new tires.

For some reason none of the "local to me" Walmart's carry M1 15w50 in any size containers.
