Default which wheels?

OK, wifey signed off on me getting new wheels. My choices-all 17"-Cup 1's, Cup 2's, or 3 piece Kinesis 993 Supercup styles. Why do you think will look best on the car? I'm staying away from the 18" RH/Speedline types, I'm a little hesitant of using 18"s with my mo30 sways and H&R sport springs on the cab.

My father just put 18" "turbo twists" off a 996C2 on his Iris Blue '94 Coupe. I thought it looked great with the OEM Cup 2's, but these 18's take it to another level. The offsets are perfect and fill out the fenders way better than the OE wheels did. Ride suffered little, if at all, so I wouldn't hesitate to put the same 18's on a cab.

If you go with Cup's, make sure to get the Cup 2's. Those would be period correct for a '95.

Damian, I think you have it all figured. Get the 17s, either cup1 or cup2 and the money you save from going to 18s, invest in big blk brake package. Then you will be all set with your mods.

Damian,

Get the 17" Cup 2's... then get some Big Reds...whoever suggested you get Big Black has got to be color-blind!

Sorry Raj!

Jason, I love big reds myself as my car has them as well. Its Damian who wants blks cause he does not want to deal with color matching the rears. To get the rears to look as good as the front big reds will be a problem. I think that is the reason he wants big blks.
Trust me, I would never recommend someone to get big blks. I would rather them not match and get reds in front but thats me.
BTW, no offense taken at all. We both think alike .

I'm leaning towards the Kinesis wheels, stock Porsche Cup 1 or 2's are nearly as much money for a new set. I don't really want to fool around with refinished/ebay type stuff. I'll probably order tomorrow. I'll probably stick with the idea of Big Blacks-the red really doesn't go with the yellow, and if I get Kinesis wheels it's going to look busy enough with the gazillion bolts on the rim. Mike, I'm not a fan of the twists on our cars, I've seen a few, it's just not my taste-just like I don't like some of the colors our cars have, it all comes down to what floats your boat.

I think those PCCB yellow ceramic ones would go nice with all that RED. Brumos had them on sale for around $11,000!

OK, they're ordered. Kinesis 7.5 and 9 x 17" Supercups with Yokohama AVS ES100 tires, 225/45, 255/40, silver center, polished rim, new colored center caps. Front wheels weigh 20 lb 10 oz, rears 21lb 6 oz.

PorscheG96,

A question. The red car in the background of your photo, do you know what wheels those are? Do you have a photo of that car?

Thanks

It is Dan de Gruchy's Powerhaus 968, and I believe these are his pictures from a recent 968 weekend drive:

The wheels look like Kinesis K17's:

Why did yo go with 7.5 & 9. I have 8's and 10's and they fit fine. I run 245's and 275's, and have no problems with them rubbing.

Also I have one 8 x 17 and 10 x 17 Kinesis Super Cups that are extra. If any one knows of any singles that match those sizes for sell let me know or if any one in interested in my extras let me know.

Craig
