968 Club Sports in USA?
Hi All -
I just read a great article about the 968 Club Sport in the October EVO, The Passion of Driving magazine from England. They call it a "Future Classic" and really rave about the car. The one they "tested" was a great looking yellow with yellow wheels. Did any of these cars come to the USA? I've never seen one here and would love to know if any came across to our shores.
Thanks for the info...I'll go back to just lurking.

Boy, thats news to me... I have only seen one, and that was Joska's at Hershey last April. He's having a rather lengthy, expensive and frustrating process getting it certified to keep it in the United States. Aside from that, I have looked and never found another one.
If you have any leads on any CS's for sale, do you mind posting it here? I would LOVE to get one.
Regards,

I bought my euro 968 from a dude in SC/TN. I can't remember his name at the moment, but he lives in Tn and has a shop in northern SC. He sells P-car parts on Ebay often. It is there that I saw the minerva blue CS. That particular car didn't come w/ a title...race use only.
Nice car, bad color.

There are atleast 2 that I am aware of, one that was covered in Excellence magazine (rivera blue) and the other owned by our good freind Joska from NC.
Joska's car does not have some of the features that are usually synonymous with CS, ie CS seats etc. He is converting it to US spec to be able to federalize it.

I think you're reffering to a guy called Charles, he sold a CS for race use & a Turbo S bodyshell, he goes under the id cwcssc on e-bay. His cars are not titled & can only be tracked.
I'd also love to get a CS on the road, see 'em every time that I go back to England...

Phil, I don't see it as being a major hurdle getting a CS over. I would think, these feds have to relax at some point as they are almost classics now. I would love to see a CS in one of those rare euro colors and with all the works, ie M030, CS seats, steering wheel etc.
I have an idea I would like to run by you for getting something wicked over. Will drop you a line tomorrow.

Why so much enthusiasm for the CS ?
Except for the shorter springs, a 968 CS is nothing more than a rebadged bone-stock 968 Coupé.
It was fitted with the specifically-built Recaro bucket seats, but sadly most of the customers ordered theirs with comfort seats and the back seats just because they wanted a 968 Coupé for the price of the CS.
The "friendly"-priced CS was an intent to boost sales of the over-priced stock 968 which sales had seriously dropped. This is why very few CS came with the M030 and it was not the "tremendous/over the top/***-kicking" sports car some seem to be thinking it is.
The UK-only 968 Sport is apparently the best compromise between the two, as it features the more "sporty" lower ride height of the CS and the comfort creatures from the 968 Lux.
