Default another new 968 owner

just bought my '93 968 in December and couldn't be happier with the purchase.

black/cashmere, LSD, 75k miles, great condition.

couple of small things I want to do and have been researching here so thanks for the info. one of those things is the pesky driver's side doorhandle is tough to open. I find it's best to give it a little push in while pulling the lever and it opens right up so maybe it's an alignment issue? anyway, when it gets warmer will open it up and take a look.

I'd like to find a workshop manual. Was there one specifically for the 968? When I search all I find is the Haynes for the 944.

thanks for any insight and looking forward to contributing more soon.

Moh

The 968 is an addendum to the 944 manual, so it only has 968 specific stuff.

Moh,

Nice car and welcome. Lot's of Porsche activity in the area. Consider joining the Porsche club. We have a big event in Northern NJ coming up in May. Send me an email at Jeffery.coe@snet.net if you would like to join the PCA 968 register.

Jeff in CT

BTW, two of my kids are in NYC, my son will flag you down if he sees you. He loves 968s.

Welcome to the club, neighbor. Nice looking car! Where are you in that pic? Not "the city," I think. I'm on LI.

Moh,

I'd like to add my welcome from a northern NJ 968 owner and second Jeff's recommendation to join the Porsche Club. There are local regions of PCA (Porsche Club of America) that are very active: Metro Region covers the city and LI. NNJR (Northern New Jersey Region) covers what it says; I'm active in NNJR and we are hosting the Zone event that Jeff mentioned in May which will have Porsches from all over the northeast.

Welcome!

Thanks That's me giving her the first tank of gas after buying her in Connecticut.

I live in Brooklyn, which is a challenge but so far I've handled it. This car is not my DD and I bought it as an antidote to my motorcycling addiction and so far it's paying off.

I appreciate the info. I'm totally down for some meetups. Would be great to see some other cars and learn more about mine. Would love to come to the Zone event so if there's a mailing list or something I need to sign up for please let me know.

Moh,

If you join NNJR or Metro, you will get more info on the zone event. It is the weekend of May 15-17 at the Woodcliff Lake Hilton. You can just show up but there is an organized Concours on Saturday and Rally on Sunday. Sounds like Jeff is going to organize something as well (I hope; looking forward to it).

Info that is currently available is here http://media.wix.com/ugd/218b95_e9c6...2432324294.pdf

In the meantime, there will be other club activities where you can meet other Porsche owners, if that is of interest.
