Wavetrac LSD
I just ordered one of these from Lindsey Racing for the riviera blue coupe:

For autocross, I found the factory Torsen to be ineffective when lifting the inside rear wheel - it basically free wheels like an open differential, costing 1/2 second or more on courses with high grip and slow / tight corners. Naturally I called Guard because they're the Cadillac of LSD but was concerned by the decel locking and its negative effect on turn-in response which is crucial for autocross. This weekend I just heard about Wavetrack which appears to be the perfect solution for my situation so I'll let everyone know how this goes after install. In addition to solving the free wheeling problem, this new LSD design is lighter weight and less than half the price of OS Giken and Guard!

So you have an OEM unit right now? I am in the process of getting mine rebuilt and then it will go into my non-LSD car. Probably won't get that done for a while.
How much is the Wavetrac? Are you going to install it yourself?

Very nice, and the price is reasonable. I'm not incredibly knowledgeable about differentials and the pros and cons of all the various flavors of LSD's, but do you think this type of diff is suitable for a track car? I've never lifted a wheel on the track, so the advantage of Wavetrack's design, as cool as it is, isn't obvious to me for a track application. I currently have a Guard torque-biasing differential. I see how the Wavetrack's design could be helpful in an autocross, though.

I'm sure if you take those bikes off the roof the car will handle better too...
Do you know what the % ratio this Wavetrac comes in?

I finally got the chance to autocross the blue 968 again at a venue that's notorious for causing me frustrating and time robbing 1-wheel tire spin...Marina Airport. The weather was incredible and with the luxury of 14 laps to experiment with everything including shock settings, I really like the Wavetrac LSD. I think this upgrade is a no-brainer for any 968 owner who doesn't already have LSD and aspires to do some AX - it offers an impressive blend of value and performance. The Wavetrac is indistinguishable from the factory Torsen except during tight corner exits where I'd estimate that this differential gets 50% better traction when a wheel is lifted off the ground. Initially I was convinced that the rear tire spin was 100% under control but when I really picked up the pace [basically faster and more aggressive than I've ever driven this car] I started to spin the rear tires a bit. I can definitively say that I was more than satisfied with additional rear tire grip and my times reflected this. I feel like Wavetrac + KW V3 + Dunlop Z2 245/275 are a killer combination for 968's... Here's some video from yesterday:
