I hereby acknowledge your righteousness and promise to desist from this ridiculous exchange in the interest of maybe, just maybe, keeping this fricken' thread on topic.
Post your opinions, and stop criticizing others, or you're no better than that "other forum" you like to deride.

For comparison lets not forget about the Amazon Green over Magenta M030 coupe that was for sale last spring. That was a low mileage car in a rare color combo with M030 and 220 and it failed to sell after multiple runs on ebay, which I'm sure was probably due to the wild color combo. I think his buy it now was in the mid to high teens before he stopped listing it.

Colin, even though it would never be my 1st choice, blk/blk is probably the most sought after combo. I have owned a few M030's myself. You have to hold off for the right buyer. They are out there. Fortunately the seller is not hurting for cash, and will get what the car deserves.
Jeff is a great resource from both ends. He will put the seller in touch with the right guys. I would be very curious to see what it ends up selling for. My $$ is still at $20k.

Raj, I agree 100% just throwing out a recent comparison. I also agree blk/blk is the most desirable color hence my 968 being blk/blk, which was the exact combo I was searching for.

Truth be told, I haven't posted on the "other forum" for many months, but I'm not unaware of the blood feud between the two, which is why I don't mention it by name.
It makes both sides look equally foolish, including now.

..... back to the topic of the great car that is possibly for sale, the black/black does look great which explains why black/black was the most popular color combo on the M030 (with 24 produced as I mentioned before) and no surprise, it is also the most popular combo on the entire 968 coupe run with 316 (of 2,234). On the other extreme, there was only 1 M030 coupe produced in color to sample metallic. I've never seen it and I wonder what color it is??? Someone spent an additional $2500 for the paint back then.

It's interesting about color....I would say that I will never buy (or even look at) another black car again. I don't like how they look, I don't like how they are dirty after 20 minutes, I don't like how they show every scratch in the car.
But this is just my opinion. I love my red 968, but would love to have one of the funky colors even more!
I can't say that the color combo is going to add or detract from the value of the car.
And considering there is only one picture of the car in a parking garage, you can't really tell what the condition of the car is at all. I have put some nice mods on my car since I purchased it, but don't think it's really going to change the value much if at all.
