Angry Broken your Sideskirt clips? What the "Pro's" do

Took the sideskirts off my 968 to replace the sealing strips. Fairly amazingly, 3 of the 4 skirts came off without breaking a clip - unheard of in my Porsche experience. But it wasn't all good... got to the RHS fron piece and it didn't want to come off. With a lot of judicious prying with a large flat screwdriver, it eventually gave up the struggle and revealed the professional handiwork of the panel shop that had done the otherwise excellent repaint several years ago (way before my ownership). The pics tell the story...

A bit sad, isn't it?

Sorry to see that! I've heard of it happening, but so far haven't seen it on my cars.

Fortunately it cleaned up OK, with the help of a Dremel. I was able to fit the proper clips and all looks original again.

Just goes to show how good that stuff bonds. I have new clips to install myself. I could expect that from a DIY but not a shop.

Cheers,
Larry
