New to me 93!
So I had looked at this high mileage car, that I didn't need but it kept coming back to me.
Not sure what I'm going to do with it, but for now having two 968's is pretty cool!
It is the one I posted here from the St Louis Craigslist. Midnight Blue /Classic Gray with 235K miles. It has at least 16 years of service history and all in all is a pretty solid car. While my 94 is tucked away in the garage, I can drive this one
Okay maybe not today -
I'm looking for a couple of things:
1-classic gray shifter/boot (good+ condition)
2-radio wiring (both connectors and about 4 inches of wire) someone cut the wires to install a piece of crap radio.
I'll post more on this one later but I just fixed the gas gauge (records show there was a problem with it for a while). The sending unit was messed up.
I'll need to fix several other (normal problems) clock light, outside temp gauge light, rear wiper, cruise control clutch switch, oilk leaks (looks like pan gasket), passenger door lock, and a bunch of cleaning!
Cheers,

Jeff,
Before I looked at the car I asked you (and received) that info (sorry it was a couple of months ago).
Vin is 409, you mentioned it had option 220 but looks like it had pinion bearing replacement at 59K so I think that may be gone. Looks like drivers door is a replacement do you have the build date?
Thanks

There is another guy on the site who has an original factory sport seat equipped 968 and the seats were switched out at the dealer when the car was new!!!

A couple of years ago a Cadillac dealer my dad has used for his cars swapped out the upgraded wheels on his car to lesser ones-between when he bought the car and delivery two days later-I guess they figured he wouldn't notice. He didn't. I did, and reamed them out and got him some free service coupons for the hassle!

Troy, So in stead of finding the remaining under grill and fender parts you decided to buy a whole car?
I can give you some pointer to make it into a race car :-)
I can dig through my boxes and wiring harness to see if I can find you the radio wiring.

If that is the car I'm thinking of, I investigated it as well. Looked like a pretty good deal for the price. I was a bit worried about the mileage until I dropped in here, and was reassured. Let me know specifically what connector you need for the radio and I'll see if I have it. I'm one of those guys that swapped the POS factory radio out for a Sony with aux in and USB on the front. I have some connectors left over.

Wow! Thanks guys lots of replies.
The radio connectors are two white (at least one is white) long connectors. They left one connector but cut the wires too short to fix.
I don't know for sure that the LSD was replaced, I remember reading somewhere that depending on what they fixed for the pinion issue often the LSD was swapped out (scrapped). I can't remember how to test for LSD I know that's here somewhere. My 94 has the LSD where you spin rear wheel and the opposite spins same direction (it was added not listed as option). This car doesn't do that and I know certain years had an LSD where non spinning wheel engaged as torque is applied.
Cheers,
Dave

Fuel Sender Fix
So I thought this car was getting awesome gas mileage the gauge never moved from 1/4 tank. Then I put some gas in it an it still stayed at 1/4 tank.
Remember I have all the service receipts!
So there was a remark several years ago that stated the low fuel light is on with 5/8 of a tank. Never saw any listing of a fix (I'm hoping the Porsche service didn't do this!). I think the owner tried to fix it
My friends (PO) if you're over your head doing an oil change (They paid $65 for labor for each oil change), please don't take the Fuel Sending unit out of the tank!
The picture is crap, sorry, but they forced it back in the tank and bent the housing which caused the float to stick at 1/4 tank.
I took it apart and straightened it.
So far seems to work, I'll fill the tank up later and see.
