Default Porsche crest on headrest

Hello all,

As a longtime 944 owner I just acquired a 968 that I have been admiring for several years that belonged to a friend of mine. After getting it back in shape and looking over the car I noticed that it has the Porsche crest etched into the headrest. I didn't notice it when I bought the car and honestly didn't see it until looking over the window sticker. It was a $103 option when the car was purchased. It is very hard to see with the light gray seats and I attached a picture that is not the best but it gives an idea. I have not seen this before. Is this common in 968's? Jeff tells me the car is one of one iris blue with full leather in split midnite blue and marble gray.

Although I have a full database of all the North American 968s these special interior options are not part of the info I collected. All i have is what I have seen. For this crest in headrest option I have seen it 3 times. Most of these special order interior options are very rare. Your car has the supple leather ($443) as well which is also very rare (like less then 10 cars). I see you also have a deviating carpet ($75) in standard color. I assume it is midnight blue? Believe it or not, the standard carpet would have been the marble gray!

Yes, Jeff the carpet itself is blue. I had linen carpet in the Turbo S when it was a street car and a guy once told me it was a good thing I didn't work in a cow pasture! Same would hold true for gray carpet.

Since you asked. Outside pics were taken when I first got the car over the summer. Too much snow to get a good outside shot now.

Nice real nice, look to be in very good shape in & out.The interior kind of throw you out when first looking at it, reason migth be we are not use of seeing such interior color combo.Engine bay also look nice but most of all I love your wheels. Thanks for sharing.

I have the same color combo without the deviating carpet....yup, it's light grey just like the seats and lower dash.
