Default Introducing my riviera blue coupe

Hey folks, so I've been holding out on you for the last year and a half because I picked up the riviera blue 968 coupe that was for sale in 2010 but didn't share. Anyway, the car needed a lot of work and I finally feel like it's in good enough shape to spill the beans so please forgive me...

Before:

After:

The quick breakdown includes:

Puchased with 52k miles, now has 57k miles
Tiptronic to 6 speed transmission conversion with new clutch and hydraulics
Rebuilt rear suspension, new bushings, coated spring plates/torsion carrier/trailing arms, and re-indexed torsion bars
Full m030 suspension including struts/shocks, springs, and sway bars
Ride height set to 25" and 800 lbs balance at each corner, autocross alignment
Replaced stock 16" wheels with genuine 3.6 Speedlines
Spent a month detailing the body including multiple stages of polish and wax
Fixed various broken accessories including rear wiper, 3rd brake light, broken fog light lens, broken antenna, and black stone guards

I've had three people mistake me and my car for you.
I keep getting "Hey where you just at Thunder Hill chasing a GT3?"
OUR CARS BARELY LOOK THE SAME!
Whatever, I don't mind. Hopefully you will start having people say to you "Hey wasn't that you spinning out and getting suck in the mud during Redwood regions autocross?"
LOL, I see Arash in those pic's.

AMAZING!!!! Looks fantastic. I hope you'll bring it to Hershey this weekend!!!???? The weather is looking good!!!

Now, you know there is a 1:43 scale minichamps 968 model out there that looks just like your car Trev. You'll have to pick one up.

What have you decided to do on the interior?

Enjoy your 1 of 1.

Jeff

That is stunning... and my new wallpaper.

The transmission conversion must represent an insane amount of work, there are so many small things that vary such as instrument cluster, shifter, etc etc etc... Did you remove the whole cooling circuit for the trans fluid?

Genuine Speedlines, but in which offsets?

Looks great. Gotta add some spacers to the speedlines to get an aggressive stance.

Jeff, there's no way I can make it to Hershey from 3k miles away. I've got plans for the next several weekends anyway so it wouldn't work out. No changes to the interior at this point. Unless I have tons of money burning a hole in my pocket and a lot more spare time then I'm not changing much else with the car. Re: the model, do you mean this one?

Thom, the conversion was indeed a large project but I had good friends Bill and Arash to help. I documented the whole thing on a local racing forum so feel free to check it out:

Raj, I wanna order some 10mm spacers soon. The pretty wheels are coming off in exchange for cup 2's with DOT-R autocross rubber the next couple weekends but hopefully I'll have a set by the time they go back onto the car.

Hey Don, nice to see you here and hope you're doing well!

Trevor, all is fine here with both the 57 Chevy and my 968 Coupe (now with 14.5 k miles on it) running fine. Our Daughter is remarrying in June so Elke and I will again be alone in the house after 7 years - lol! We will miss the 2 grandkids but more trips are now a possibility - hurrah! Well, we did go to Niagara Falls for our 50th Wedding Anniversary in January.

If you change your mind I know a few things about swapping interiors.

I've seen this car in person and it is even more badass than the pics. Can't wait to see it with the speedlines on, but I have a feeling it's going to have the cup2s on the majority of times I see it.

I've also seen Raj's cab in person and these two cars need to be in the same place at least once.
