Hey thanks guys! The car is Midnight Blue over tan/black interior with a 6 speed. I am REALLY enjoying this car and drive it daily no matter what the weather. I am very impressed with the fuel mileage and the handling and over "feel" of driving is superb. The seats are so comfortable. I spend about 3 hours a day in traffic in the car, so the seats save my back.

I'm thinking of doing a CPU performance chip and a cone type intake filter. Or should I just mod the OEM intake?

Congrats nice car,as you drive it more the car will grow on you this is what the 968 does to you .No need for a cone filter, chip/K&N & a mod air boxe should do the job.Instead spend money on the suspension if still OEM .Wheels & tires are very important,I beleive you got 17" on there if not try to find a set of CUP I couple to tires that suit your driving style & road condition in your area.Btw keep away from extremes modifications your 968 don't really need them,(Air Boxe Mod PDF).Have fun & enjoye.

Think twice before you drill holes. It will only add 2-3hp at max. Not something anyone can ever feel. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't do this mod. If you do plan on doing it, let me know. I would be happy to swap my airbox with yours.

for me the mod was effective for the added intake sound. it made me feel a little more connected with my 968. Coming from a 951, the airbox mod was the first step that made me realize i made the right choice with the 968. Until then i thought the car way too... bland... ymmv.

I don't think I'm brave enough to cut those holes in the car's airbox. However, I WOULD do it to a spare airbox. Anyone have one sitting around? I also agree about the mild intake noise, I really like it. 2-3hp isn't even noticable and that is not what I was after.

congrats! i started with an autothority chip at first and then went to Promax and finally settled on RSBarn... PRomax was perfect and a bit better over autothority but i switched to RSBarn because it was matched to some other mods...

a chip really makes this car come into its own... not very exciting otherwise imho... may not be any faster but it moves the power curve around so that it at least "feels" like something is going on...
