Here's a link to a 1992 968 with just over 3,500 miles for sale by Rhode Scholars. Purple with linen interior. No price listed, I'm sure it's not cheap reading the story of how they bought it. Perhaps this has been previously posted or some already know of this one. Thought just in case, I'd share the link to the web site. These are the same guys that bought the Neil Huffman Estate's 356 collection that also included the 4 door 928.

Cool car and I remember hearing about it in 2010 when it sold for big bucks at the PCA parade in IL. The car is 1 of 19 coupes in F9 Amethyst, 1 of 2 coupes in Amethyst with the megenta light gray interior and 1 of 1 when you factor in the cloth. Options include limited slip, hi-fi sound with amps, rear emblem delete, lumbar driver's seat and a CD changer. The seller is full of it when he says the car is one of the first. It is actually #531 of 649 92s, probably has a production date of June 1992. Notice the car is so late in the 92 model year that the gloves are no longer shown on the underhood glove box cover. Still, probably one of the lowest mileage 968s left and a very cool car.

That's a whole lotta purple. Yes, a cool car, but personally, it'snot something I'd consider, if I had the kind of money to spend that the seller is probably asking. Let's face it, as much as we love these cars, by today's standards, a stock 968 is a pretty mediocre car; it didn't even stack up to its competition particularly well when it was new. To me, the fun thing about the 968 is its potential, but I would be reluctant to put so much as a short shift kit in a car like this one. But for the right buyer, it could make a neat addition to their collection.

i had my mediocre car at the redline and 163 mph last week.
that's a confirmed speed. pretty good you ask me.![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
in 1993/1994 the 968 had only one equal in the world for handling — the Ferrari F-50. though production/publicity was suppressed by Porsche,
the 968 Turbo S was also one of the fastest cars in the world that you could put down on a track in 1993/1994, and it's still good by today's standards.
