I started my car today at long last after a complete top end rebuild. Ran it for 2 hr to heat up everything and chk for any leaks, strange noises, vibrations, ect, ect. all went well and this brought a smile to my face. Will repeat tomorrow.

Congrats on the reassembly and initial firing.

In 2nd tire picture, the little arrow on the edge of the tread can be used to set the optimum tire pressure (@10/10ths or maximum lateral Gs)

I left Chicago at 10:00 yesterday.... 12 midnight at Love's outside Denver airport caching a few z's....

1080 miles (journey began in the township of Zion driving the back roads to I-39)....

once on I-39 it was pretty insane.... had her wound up around 90-96 much, if not most of the way, with a few breaks for lunch, dinner, gas, stretch the legs, etc..........

this is one seriously dialed in GT car.

my only regret; having Kevin Gross put in a .600 gear instead of going even zanier with the .560.

i'd have sacrificed the top end. in any case,

(next time).

what's needed is (6th) for maximum top speed potential and (7th) as the perfect highway economy gear.

96mph is like 2600rpm. a bit excessive.

Ran it again today at a steady 2500 rpm for 3 hrs with it still on the lift. All good minus 1 item,, I have one major oil leak which seems to be the 2 oil cooler hoses which I will order today and replace nxt weekend. Road test today. YEA!!!
One of the very 1st items on my to do list when this engine wrk has been completed is a trip to a HP car wash to clean the engine compartment and under the car with real soap and water., I cant stand dirt.

Drove it like I stole it. Day 2 of having it up and running. Passed Calif smog chk today with no problem what so ever. Continued to tidy up the engine bay using simple grean, hot water and a brush.
Found 1 dime sized oil spot on the driveway that I need to find the source of, it may be RMS in which case it will be leaking a long time as the clutch only has 25,000 miles on it, outside of that I am so stocked to have this car up and running.
Today I will evac the AC sys with a vacuum pump and recharge it with R 134 and sealant.3
OD, where are U today??

Wednesday was the big waves...

Thursday night i was back in Denver with the car.

so, yesterday was good for exploring more of the High Country of Colorado.

today's Sledgehammer cruising was through Arches Natl Park and Monument Valley.

totally sick natural skyscrapers! right now, i'm relaxing in an undisclosed pub in Flagstaff.

After pulling my 968 out of the garage over a month ago, and working through all of the standard "long term storage" stuff (draining tank, headlight motor replacement, fluid changes, etc). I finally told myself I am not meant to have a "nice car" that gets a spot in the garage and only sees the light of day when it is nice out. I washed the car up yesterday and posted it on craigslist. Been a lurker for a long time, owned the car for 5 years though....if I had the room I would love to keep the car indefinitely....going to hate to see it drive away with someone else at the wheel.

The car isn't perfect (as noted in the ad) and with the internet, and every other seller pretending they are selling showroom fresh, 20+ year old cars, it really deludes most buyers into thinking that a small dent, paint work, and normal wear and tear takes real value off the car. Hopefully it is priced well enough to sell quick....I just put insurance back on it, so I will be driving it until it sells.....I would prefer she is gone before I change my mind.

Photosensitive paints are difficult to keep pristine with the elements.

I drive as Ferry and Ferdinand intended, paint be damned.

My 968 has 201,500 miles on the clock, paint chips all over the front, I could care less, now that I have it up and running again( cylinder head rebuild), paint be dammed, I'm going to drive the wheels off of it, make it mechanically sound and enjoy it for what it is, a 1994 high miles driver.
Today I replaced the 2 front A arm bushings. Had to drill and install new female thread in 2 of the 4 holes.
