The dealer seems up and up & I have it from another valid source that they are good for their word. So far so good as things are progressing, but you can never know with a car dealer with multiple potential buyers. And I have a brother who was in that biz for 30 yrs. Sometimes the first in line can be moved to the rear if it becomes like Ebay bidding with people waving green backs at them, they can suddenly lose their integrity.

ok, I've paid for it, now I have to wait for them to tidy up a few things & then the excrutiating wait for it to be shipped cross country. I almost just flew out to San Diego to drive it back to Fla. Would have been my preference, just would have been tough to take the time away.

Ok, here are a few they sent me last week. The car wasn't detailed, so the interior needed cleaning. The front pic was from a camera phone. One of the things they have to do is replace a cracked front fog/driving light. The side view shows the blinker out & the camera phone pic shows the fog/driving light taken out. The shifter **** & boot have wear & I'll replace. The passenger tail light has been replaced, so at some point I hope to match the drivers side.
I've never bought a car without seeing it in person 1st, very unsettling. I did have the local Porsche dealer check the car out for me, so that helped with the uncertainties. Their service dept rep said they all thought it was a nice car. I have receipts for new rotors, pads, tires, belts(incl. timing belt, seals & rollers), hoses & oil chg. I'll check the Variocam assembly after it's trucked to me. The dealer wanted almost $600 just to check it, incl. the new seals.
Its not perfect, but it'll be perfect for me!
Once I have the car in possession and it's cleaned up more, I'll take lots of photos I know. And if someone sees something major wrong from those photos, please go easy on me. The money has changed hands & I'm not sure I could handle hearing about it right now!

I checked with about a dozen of them. The quality shippers ranged from $1500 to $2000, & the brokers were around $900-1100. The dealer I bought it from said they ship cars every month & quoted me $1395 enclosed. He says he verifies the driver, his record & license. I will find out the name of who he uses next week.

Nice!!!!!!!!! Too bad about the fog light, mine had a hole punched through it from a rock when I bought it and the new replacement cost $450! What's funny is that the jack point is visible below the rocker panel in your first picture. I'd not seen that on 968's before but it looks that way on mine too...
Anyway, the interior and engine bay appear to be in good shape. She's gonna need some 17" Cup II's for sure though.
