RIP a 968er
Did anyone see that David E. Davis passed away recently? He is a well known automotive writer and founded Automobile magazine. He also ordered a new 968. I almost purchased the same car back in 1998. It was a 1 of 5 Amaranth Violet cabriolet loaded with options. He wrote about the car back when he purchased it new and said he liked it. He seemed like a very interesting fellow.

It would be worth noting that our own Dick Dobson passed on in March as well. I didn't recall seeing a note about it here, he was a lot more active in the racing forum, but he was a long time 968 driver. I worked a Club Race with him a few years ago, he had driven his 968 up from Tulsa to the race.

Bruce B (outgoing PCA club race chair & rennlister) had to announce Dick's passing at the driver's meeting and it was all Bruce could do to "keep it together" as he spoke fondly of his dear friend. We had a moment for Dick in the garage at WGI at last month's race and all racers were asked to "do a lap in Dick's memory", which I did ... and I'm certain that all the other participants who knew him did the same.
