Default 968er with a transaxle fluid question

Ted, a fellow 968er forwarded this question to me. Any thoughts?
Thanks!

I'm looking for someone who knows about change the transaxel fluid on the 6 manual speed version. Books says 3.5 liters capacity. When I emptied it, there was about 2.5 liters that drained. When I refilled with new, surprise-surprise, it took about 2.5 liters.

Am I missing something?

Ted is welcome to post to one of the many 968 forum sites to get his answer.

Approx 0.73 U.S. gal or 2.75 liters he,s ok no problem ,when changing transaxle fluid in a 6 speed manual you buy 3 liters & have a little bit left.

Raj,
Ted is a PCA member and asked me and I didn't know. Some people are into the cars and aren't comfortable with forums which is fine so I figured we all help each other so I would ask for him. I will make sure to tell him I got the answer from Ernie on Rennlist and invite him to join as I always do.

Ernie,
Thanks for the info.

The 968 owner manual specify 2.75 LTRS but mention nothing about LSD ,not sure 100% but I think LSD or not the amount of fluid require will be the same unless I'm (missing something here).

LSD will only make a difference what oil you use.

I just found this list of fluids on the Amsoil site.
