Yes, go to 968.net for more information. Last months 911&Porsche World mag had a story on a converted car by Powerhaus.

There were two small runs of 968 Turbos out of the factory. A Turbo and the Turbo S. I do not have exact production numbers handy but I have seen a couple around locally. One was a Speed Yellow Turbo S for sale. There was the racing Turbo RS as well. There was one for sale in the USA recently for around $US125,000,

PS: These 968 Turbos for the road were only sold in Europe to the best of my knowledge.

There were exactly 15 968 Turbo S and 4 Turbo RS ever made, all in Europe.

Here is a web site with a few links that anyone interested in the 968 Turbo should visit. http://www.968turbo.homestead.com/
I have no idea how accurate the data is on this site or its links,

They are surprisingly easy to turbo! You only need a good turbo, custom intake and exhaust, and new connecting rods.

True, but you are forgetting:

Intercooler with custom plumbing, wastegate with custom plumbing, larger injectors, engine management system (chip)and oilplumbing for the turbo oilcooling.

doesn't the 968 use the same 37lbs injector as the S2 and 951? those should be sufficient to 18 lbs on a k27 or 8 lbs on a k29? shouldn't they?

I count intercooler and oil plumbing as part of a good turbo.

As for the chip, you don't really need it. Its nice to have it, but not 100% necessary. A stand alone ECU is better anyways, and not too much more expensive, when we get into late model Porsches

The injectors are good for 350 hp or so, from my experience. Still a good idea to replace them, but again, not 100% necessary.

The project can be done beautifully with stand alone ECU, new injectors, and a good turbo for about $5000, if you source the right parts.

There were also 4 Turbo RS chassis mae by the factory, no serial numbers. One of them was for sale on ebay a few months ago and is in the USA.

The No1 Turbo S white in colour was for sale last month for $65K
The number 13 car dark blue colour was sold last year with around 80K miles on for around $60K to someone on England.
The number 14 car Guards Red ( I want this one I want this one ) was sold last year from the original swiss owner for around 60-65K but it had if I'm not mistaken around 10K miles on...
My sources tell me there is going to be another white one for sale very soon which was owned by a German dealer...I do not know the chassis number.

Awesome cars just like the normal 968 and definately keepers...

I'd rather have a good after market turbo system for a 968. The 2V head just robs the motor of it's top end. The VVT also improves low end torque, as well as high end power.

Thumbs up

Hey CBass,

Unfortunately I could not keep my 968... One of the biggest mistakes I have done in my life...

A three car garage is a must when I move this summer! I will be sure to get another 968 then. I miss her so much especially on the track...
Now if the new only the new owners sells her back to me

As for a Turbo, I'll be hunting one down for sure when the financial Gods smile at me. After I pay off my 993 maybe???

BTW this summer I'm moving to your neck of the woods (wife is Canadian) this summer! Maybe we can have a outing on those fab roads you guys have up there!
