Info: Converting an na Cabriolet into a turbo.
I am looking for help from anyone who has converted a regular cabriolet into a turbo.
I have a 1994 968Tiptronic cabriolet that I plan on mating with the power plant and tranny of an 88 944 Turbo S. I am looking for pointers on body harness and making the converting top working.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I've done it and it isn't that easy - there any many modifications to be done to get it in like Porsche once did. You have to install the intercooler, relocate the watercooler, AC cooler, cut and weld the frontend, change transaxle, various electric cuts und reconnections and many more. A close look into a original 968TS engine room will give you some ideas about many things that will not fit directly! Go out and learn or give it to someone who knows - I think it's not possible to give you a detailed playbook about it.

you're posting on the wrong forum. you're engine management will be "944 Turbo," therefore consider that your engine bay will be "944 Turbo," except for the larger block, even if you stay "all 9-6-8...." consult Chris White on the following thread or Mike Lindsay posting on the same forum. they've got everything you need, including parts, and Jedi knowledge.

btw, a Turbo conversion is a perfect match for a 968 Cab.

I have turbo a 968 coupe before, this time I am checking ahead to see any hiccups on doing a cabriolet. As stated in my original post, I am looking for pointers ( harness wise) from someone who has done this before who could point in the right direction. I have the engine/tranny and the turbo stuff sorted out already. I am just stump on the convertible top wiring. Hopefully this post is clearer. Thanks again

Arash,
It was rather easy once that I had assembled the necessary parts to complete the turbo upgrade. The best thing is to buy a cheap turbo car as a donor, which will guarantee that you have everything needed. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics saved up to upload from that project. I should have the 968 cab here by this weekend. I will either start a new thread or post pics here as I progress on the turbo cab conversion. If you have any specific question, feel free to ask me.

What specifically are you looking for as far as the cab top? I am assuming you are referring to the key position shut out to keep you from operating the top while running, correct? Are you trying to duplicate that function or bypass it?
