Default Seat Options

What were the seat options offered in a 968? What constitutes a fully loaded 968 seat?

Guess I'll take a shot at this...

Standard seats with early 944 stitching or late 993 stitching could have the following options:
Partial leather, full leather, or cloth
4-way power or 8-way power
Heated or non-heated

Sport seats with early 944 stitching or late 993 stitching could have the following options:
Partial leather or cloth
Heated or non-heated
[I don't believe you could get 8-way power or full leather sport seats but I could be wrong]

Clubsport seats could have the following options:
Sprung or unsprung seat cushion

Based on this list, I supposed the standard full leather heated seats with 8-way power would be fully loaded.

Add to that lambar support. I had a set on my 1st M030. They were 8 way power, did not have the heat feature but did have lumbar support (very rare).

Raj, what was the side switch panel configuration?
Were headrest crests and plain cloth vs script not also options?

Crests were an Exclusiv option, listed under 09991.

Gene, Raj & Trev got it pretty well but I'll add a few things:

For sport seats, they have the 4-way adjustment and the only additional option you could get on them was heated.

For the standard seats, as mentioned previously, you could get 8-way adjustment (replacing the standard 4), heated, and lumbar.

As far as coverings, there are 99 different configurations depending on material and color. For material you have:

Full leather (seats, console, dash, door panels)
Just full leather seats
Partial leather - inserts
Cloth - Porsche script - just the inserts
Cloth - Porsche script - full seat tops
Cloth - Multicolor ( a plaid, see example below) - just the inserts
Cloth - Multicolor - full seat tops

Multicolor cloth is very rare (1 cab, 6 coupes)

You could also get the crests in the headrest, supple leather, piping, stitching. I have the codes for some of these.

Damian,
Actually, only the "X" options were considered Exclusive and got you the 09991 code. So, XD4, painted center caps for the wheels would get you 09991 but 16821, Porsche crest in seat headrest would not.

question about 993 sports seats.

1. does anyone know what year/model 911 this style sports seat made it's first appearance ? and,

2. did these seats make an appearance in any of the first years of the 996 ?

3. do you like them ?

4. would you install a seat like this in your 968 or 993 if you could get your grubby hands on a set ?

yeppem...

some more comments about the sports seats...

About half way down the outside of the seat back (in your first two pics, where the edge of the leather bends toward the the rear of the car) the edge pulls loose slightly and must be "tucked under" to the proper position every few weeks.

A must have for many 993 guys.

The 996s all had these seats available. They are different from the 993 seats. Not direct bolt on.

996 Sport seats sell for $1200 range 993s sell for $3500 to 4000 mint.

Can you clarify - the "full leather" seats have leather tops and vinyl backs/sides? And the partial leather seats have vinyl bolsters/sides/backs? What about 100% leather seats? I have seen plenty of Porsche seats with 100% leather, including sides and back, but never on a 968. Thanks.

Arash,
I have the full leather interior in my car. The full leather seats have the entire seat, top, back, sides, covered in leather. The partial leather seats only have the parts you sit on, the bolsters and inserts, in leather. Porsche offered full leather interiors for $4K-$5K, which I have in my car. This included not only the full leather seats but a leather console with stiching, lower dash coverings with stitching, and door panels with door pulls wrapped in leather with stitching. Then, you could also get "just" the full leather seats for $1957/$2256.

Here is a photo of part of the lower dash leather on my car:

Trev, and it is a very very rare option, probably due to its extremely high cost.

Of the 2,008 cabs only 30 have full leather.
Of the 2,234 coupes only 20 have full leather.
