Speed Yellow 968 coupes!!! revised!
Earlier this year I published the results of the speed yellow 968 coupes since I had finished the 1994 and 1995 model years of the 968 coupe registry. Well guess what. I found two more SY 968 coupes produced in 1993 for Canada so I have to revise my findings. They appear below. BTW, I now have ALL the data for the 968 coupes so there won’t be any more SY coupes showing up.
The coupe registry is essentially complete so that I can share the data with you on the Speed Yellow 968 coupes. It turns out Porsche made the same number of SY coupes as they did cabs which is 10 in number. Below are the details which I'm sure you will find interesting:
There were:
10 Speed Yellow coupes built for the North American market
2 1993s (both sent to Canada)
3 1994s (94.5s actually, true 94s, non-718 cars)
5 1995s (4 718 cars, 1 true 95)
10 were 6 speeds
7 had code LT black partial leather interior
1 had code PJ marble gray/black partial leather interior
2 had code AB black partial cloth “Porsche” script interior
8 had 595 painted rear spoiler (all of them)
5 were M030 sport chassis cars
Unlike the SY cabs, most of the coupes were well optioned:
SYCP #1 – 93 – M030 (includes 17” wheels), limited slip, Canadian package (dual heated seats, headlight washers), black partial cloth “Porsche” script interior
SYCP #2 – 93 – M030 (includes 17” wheels), limited slip, Canadian package (dual heated seats, headlight washers), black partial cloth “Porsche” script interior
SYCP #3 – 94 – M030 (includes 17” wheels), painted rear spoiler, NO limited slip, black partial leather
SYCP #4 – 94 – limited slip, 17” wheels, painted rear spoiler, black partial leather
SYCP #5 – 94 – painted rear spoiler, black partial leather
SYCP #6 – 95 - limited slip, 17” wheels, painted rear spoiler, black partial leather
SYCP #7 – 95 – M030 (includes 17” wheels), limited slip, dual heated seats, dual 8-way full power seats, painted crest center caps, hi-fi sound speakers, painted rear spoiler, black partial leather
SYCP #8 – 95 – limited slip, dual heated seats, dual 8-way full power seats, painted crest center caps, hi-fi sound speakers, painted rear spoiler, black partial leather
SYCP #9 – 95 – M030 (includes 17” wheels), limited slip, sport seats, painted rear spoiler, alternate color leather shifter ****, black partial leather
SYCP #10 – 95 – limited slip, painted crest center caps, sport seats, hi-fi sound speakers, painted rear spoiler, CD changer, marble gray/black partial leather

Dino,
I haven't figure that out yet but I'm still working on it.
Rader,
Thanks, now i have to go back and look at my data to see which cars DON'T have a 650 listed. I originally only looked at what they did have.
Trevor,
I will be doing a presentation next year but i haven't figured out where. I'm seriously considering DRIVING to the 2011 Porsche parade in Savanah GA.

seats
Bought the seats directly from Porsche in Germany way back in 1994 for my 964 America Roadster.
Sold the Roadster and kept the seats (among some other parts, such as yellow shifter/boot, e-brake, RS door panels, etc).
The seats are very comfortable and supportive in the 968 (this is the type with the optional "trampoline" under the bottom cushion).
BTW, I have a few more sets with Guards Red backs!!!

Porsche fan,
If the other seats are like the ones in yellow, I would love to buy them from you! However, you would probably have to put me on a payment plan given the fact I am sure they are $$$. ;-)
