There are no 968's left on ebay

Most of you have been watchin longer than me, but last fall and through the winter there has always been at least 5 or 6. I remember watching a very nice black cab with 45k go for around $12k in early Dec. I thought it was the best car for the money since I have been watching on Ebay. It was in Florida.

We have no idea what's out there. When I was leaving a charity luncheon at Trump National Golf Club last Sunday I was stopped by a gent driving a brand new Mercedes sedan driving up to the club. (On the mile long driveway to the clubhouse). He told me he's never seen another 968 cab on the road; turns out he has a white/blue/blue cab with very low miles, original owner. We chatted for a minute, he's never heard of .net, or Rennlist. So there must be similar (hiddden) cars not known to the enthusiast community that will eventually come up for sale.

Just the other day 2 cabs showed up in Savannah, that makes 5 coupes and cab here total. I have spoken with all of the owners, 3 of those cars are virtually unknown to our online community and not part of the registry.

have any of you guys heard of the guy in either south carolina or georgia who was hoarding like 24 928s ?
if i remember correctly, (sadly) by the time they were sold off, hardly any of them ran anymore.
maybe there's an oddball 968 owner out there with a mint... of brilliant undocumented nine-six-eights...

We got ours on auto trader. There are only about 1/2 as many listed there as there use to be. There is a silver cap six speed with 160K on it for 9K. All the rest are 12K or more. It seems the prices have had a nice rebound in the last 4 months. I am sure spring has had a lot to do with that.

Pat,
Interestingly enough, we found my wife's cab on Craigslist and wound up purchasing it on eBay. We called the owner based off of the craigslist ad and they weren't interested in our offer. Then they put it up on ebay and we bought it for $100 less than our offer. I always get a little chuckle out of that.

i honestly believe there are very few abused 968s out there. that's just what i happen to believe.
how many lemon 968s you all hear about ? the owners love 'em. do you realize how many flagship P-car owners also own 968s ?
a lottttttttttt !! i a guy pulled up behind wifey and me in his 997 Carrera on the strip in Ft Lauderdale a couple of months ago... said he takes his 968 out a lot but today he was driving his 911.... i asked him if he was on Rennlist, and he said, "i think i've come across it once or twice."
this guy mentioned he spends all his time on his boat and has a tech for his car stuff.
without a doubt 968 prices are back up - but cabriolet tips have been parked near rock bottom for over a year...
at these prices, cab tiptronics, might be good wifey cars.
*if some of you happen to be driving soft top tiptronics, no insult intended.
** anybody know anything about the car in the photo or the color ?
