Default finally got some pics of my new to me 968

its a '92 black on black/cashmere. apparently the original owner was an audio nut because it has just about every audio option... at least when new... some speakers are missing now and the radio doesn't even work so im figuring that out. it needs shocks so im going with koni sports on stock springs and m030 sway bars. nothing ground breaking... i also want to change the wheels to either carrera lightweights or sport classics. these were taken almost as soon as i got it so be kind!

Chris - Congrats on the new car. Have fun !

I spent my first weekend with my new to me 968 removing an aftermarket alarm system, an aftermarket CD changer, and an aftermarket CD/AM/FM receiver and about 200ft of wire. I managed to splice back the original factory speaker and power terminal connectors to the factory radio that my PO sent me a week after buying the car. I returned the favor and returned all 10 CDs that he left in the changer and I'm sending the aftermarket receiver to his daughter as a gift from him thru me to her.

Steve, you are a very nice buyer. Hopefully if he finds other things that belong to the car he'll send them back to you.

thanks steve, im actually doing that now myself. ive got a cd changer and some aftermarket wiring i'm removing but no speakers with the exception of the tweeters. I also have the stock head unit which i was planning on keeping but it seems to be on the way out... the one car that i wanted to keep with a stock stereo system...

Chris, do you have your original radio? If you need any production data on the car PM me with the VIN and I'll take a look at what I have on it. I only need the last three digits of the VIN.

Chris - do you have the original radio including the security code cards ? I guess you are lucky.

Has anyone gone to a Porsche dealership and found them able (and hopefully willing) to confirm the radio security code having the car and radio chassis number? I called the original dealership for my car purchased on Oklahoma and the service manager wasn't exactly thrilled to be having any conversation with me about the car although he did break down (and I could feel the pain in his response) of telling me that my car had a new windshield and a few oil services. Tomorrow I am going to try to go to a local Illinois dealer and try my luck. What database does the dealer have to access to get that data - hopefully the database is open on Saturdays.

Jeff - just noticed your post on the radio code - last 3 of my VIN is 740, thanks again !

thanks everyone for the kind words, i'm very happy and have been veeeeeeeery busy this week just cleaning the car out and have found countless leaves and other types of debris in places i didn't think water could get into....
steve- definitely a stock radio, but not sure if it is the stock radio... need to take a closer look when i get back into town, i'll be out of town for another day or two.
