Default Another ASC modified car

Watching Barrett Jackson they showed a Chevy SSR (that funky sorta pickup with the folding top) and they talked about how it's a future collectible because of its uniqueness and low production numbers.

So I googled it-and they built almost four times as many cabs than ASC built with Porsche as 968's.

Like comparing goats to chickens.
Gonna be at least another 10 years before prices really increase on 968.

Speculation on both cars. I'd put my money on early C3 vettes.
But i'm no investor, I put miles on my cars, rather than look at them.

It wasn't my opinion, I just thought I'd share. And since you don't own a 968 it's not an issue for you anyway, right?

Whether or not the 968 ever has great collector value has everything to do with how the 944 does as a collector. I really see the 968 as the last 944. I just wish Porsche would have made a few thousand Turbos so I would have a chance to own one. And if the 968 never has any great collector value that would be fine with me, that just means cheaper parts.

Me not owning a 968 has about as much relevence as posting truck info on the 968 board.

Jeez, this is something to get cranky about, really?

Maybe I'm misreading you, but are you saying they're NOT increasing in price, as collector items?

Either way, those are definitely the sexiest ones they ever have, or will, make

I really wish Porsche had made one more generation, with turbocharged 16v Variocam motors standard.

As long as the 968 never has any collector value, it's just an old, rare car that nobody knows about or pays attention to, so nobody's going to build OR stock any parts for it. At least if it developed collector value, people would pay attention to it and manufacture parts and such.

I've seen "most" 968's slowly decreasing in price over the last few years. Some trying to hold.

Buy'em and drive'em!

Sorry if I wasn't clear myself, I meant the C3 Vettes, not the 968s!

Oh, I think the early C3's are going up. I think the ones to watch are the LT1 and LS6 cars.

I hope to find a parts car sometime in the next few years to keep mine going for years to come.

Last 924? Hardly. Hey, you still have 968 mirrors and door handles at least.

I don't know what you mean by this?

The 968 is the final evolution of the 924.

Different body, different motor, different transmission, different suspension, built by Porsche. Was it the last front engine, rear drive, 4 cylinder waterpumper-yes.
