I couldn't agree more, with everything you've said, and never had substantial HP gain expectations from these injectors. What I like about them is being able to replace my 130K mi. injectors, upgrade, and skip all the hassle of sending the existing set for cleaning, at much less money than cleaning or new Porsche components would cost.

As to Carl's wonderful work: I certainly don't think $5k is expensive*- I just don't have that kind of money any longer.

* If I have given that impression I've written here very, very poorly.

The injectors arrived here today. I'm hoping to get them on this weekend if we have warm weather (I want to do this with the car out of the garage for one thing).

There are numbers molded on each side of the injector:

If I hadn't sent my injectors out for cleaning last spring, I'd probably be doing the same thing this weekend...

I just got my injectors back from WitchHunter yesterday and installed them last night. While they were flowing fine according to the report I got from WitchHunter, the car is running MUCH better now. yeeHAW!

I updated a couple of points on my injector write up, so it should make sense if you are following it. If you need clarilfication, shoot me a pm, or if you are really worried about it, shoot me a pm before you start and I'll send you my phone number so you can call me if you get in a bind.

Regards,

+1, on both my cars.

John, nice looking injectors. Interesting tips they have. No more "pintle", just 4 holes. Cool!

Anyone else interested in splitting a set of injectors?

I think a lot of you are forgetting it takes more than fuel to make power. How do you plan to compensate for the additional fuel? What about the other two parts???
Enjoy your new injectors, lol

Raj; at least one of us here is just interested in getting new, better-designed injectors into his 17-year-old car, as stated earlier.

Yes, some feel the ford 4-hole injectors improve the manners of the 928S4 a bit, and are a pretty good alternative to cleaning and rebuilding your old ones.

Better atomization would generally result in free MPG and maybe a measurable amount of power (though a very small amount.)

I'd be interested on seeing how much of that mpg gain and free hp was due to replacing old gummed up injectors. I have some pretty strong doubts that the difference between a pintel type and a four hole injector will make any difference in how a stock 968 runs, but some time, how you *feel* about your car is just as important.

This is exactly my opinion as well. All things considered, it seems to be a worthwhile venture, but I'll wait to see what people say!

+1. Unless someone does a back to back comparison with a fresh rebuilt stock injector, the results will be sckewed.

Got information from Bosch that injector 0280 158 165 should fit.
The flow of these is slightly less than original, but they recommended that with slightly higher fuel pressure it shouldn't be any problem.

Resistance of these is 12Ohm, so it might be good to use resistors to get it closer to 15,4(?) Ohms what the originals are.

If someone is interested in testing these, I'm glad to get know the results.
all the pennies are going to suspension upgrade this year, so unfortunately not relevant topic for my car at the moment.

Mattipuh: not quite sure what to make of your post. The 0280 158 165 number is not that of the unit (0280 155 759) which fuelinjectorconnection.com says does match.

So why should we be looking at a different unit which doesn't in two parameters?

John, I haven't checked the fuelinjectorconnection.com model yet, have to do it. Bosch recommended me the item I mentioned.
should discuss of those injectors with someone in person, 'cos there was little information available from the item I suggested in bosch injector spec. I'll try to seek some more info.
