Damian: you posted as I was working on how to embed the YouTube video. Can't be done, I don't think. Again, here's the link.

It's got "viral" written all over it.

Can't wait to get my set installed, that will happen as soon as I'm back on my feet (knee replacement last week).

It was interesting to see how the oem porsche's injectors flow was like a straight line where as the new bosch injectors flow and body looked like a mist. It was also interesting to see that the volume was about the same even though both injectors had a very different body and flow.

I'd have loved to have seen the spray pattern on the stock injectors after they had been cleaned, but that's nitpicking.

What's the general cost of the new B3s?

A flow-matched set of 8 cost me $302.21 in November, shipped from FIC. I sold off the other 4 to a forum member here.

Jon emailed me to say he will be posting a post-cleaning injector video soon in response to posts here.

With a little luck Jon will be able to speak for himself here soon. He's in negotiations with Internet Brands as a potential sponsor.

Oh, and it's pronounced "et-near", LOL

I don't mind starting a discussion, but I seldom accept responsibility for its outcome!

The OE injectors would not have been spraying "like a straight line" when they were new. The correct spray pattern is a cone for pintle injectors.

If they were simply squirting fuel in a straight line, they were very badly in need of cleaning. The performance difference after effective cleaning would be quite noticeable -- very much as the difference described above using the new injectors, in fact.

For another perspective on the advantages and disadvantages of various injector designs, this makes for interesting reading:

Maybe not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfynoxL2RZI That "started it all" video shows just-reconditioned Gen1 Bosch injectors squirting like a hose.

I bet if new gen 3 injectors make a difference for the 968 that they'd make a big difference for the 944's too. do 968's and 944's use the same injectors?

No, and I believe that different 944 variants used different injectors from one another.
