Since the (OEM) polyurethane units have been shown to hold up extremely well and since Gert does in fact have them in stock (AFAIK no one does), perhaps a Group Buy price can be negotiated with Gert (a RL sponsor, so there should be no issues). A box with 1 or 10 shouldn't be that much different in freight costs.
Just a thought...

Anyway, does anybody remember when JarmoL posted about fabbing up this splitter combined with bumper extensions to cover the tire completely from the front?
I'm planning on something very similar for my car. Are there any splitters available for purchase that are wide enough to cover the tire like that (so all I have to fab up is the pair of extensions) or am I going to have to do the whole splitter custom, as well?

That's what I was thinking.
So...if you guys were going to make a front splitter out of aluminum, assuming that it isn't going to get smashed against the ground (I'm very careful about that), but it IS going to get subjected to, say, the full 160 mph potential of the 968's 6th gear, what thickness of aluminum would you use?

I am interested in particpating in a group buy for a polyurethane splitter either OEM or equivalent.
Current price on Carnewal website is 360 Euro or $493.

Group buys are easy; getting someone to be point man, collect the money, deal with the vendor (in this case in Europe) and then repack and ship to each person on the list is the hard part.
