Default '94 968 RHD conversion

Hi all,
I'm buying my friends '94 968 6spd. It's a LHD Japanese import, non-M030, no LSD and has approx 68,000km. It drives like it only has 68,000km also! I currently have a NZ New '86 944 n/a with approx 125,000km.

I'm in New Zealand and we drive on the left, I'd like to convert this car to RHD. When I have the hours to spend trawling through PET I'll to try to compare part numbers, etc, but I was wondering if anyone here has done this before? Is there anything they can think of that might suprise me?

Right now i'm going to concentrate on the mechanical side of things- engine, clutch/ brake hydraulics, power steering assembly. Is there anything else? Engine loom, etc?

While doing this conversion I'll be doing much of the preventative maintenance expected when buying a new 16v powered S2/968.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

I can't say I've ever known of someone doing this. Maybe the UK board could help?

Lots of parts needed but its only $$$. Real problem is firewall mounting points for steering etc. Its likely those are not there and need to be added or transferred to right hand side. Easiest solution is to get donor RHD car and take all 945... and RHD 968... parts from it.

Give Razzo (Steve Rasmussen) at EuroPacific a call. He'll let you know what you're up against. And probably have most of the parts you need.
Also worth talking to Paul Hanson at Autobahn - he built the LHD S2's for the Bridgestone series.

Cheers,
Mike
