I have a KLA Strut Brace on my car now (which i'm very pleased with as well), but i'd love to get my hands on the OEM Strut Brace, or a replica of it.

its never the last word.....Items pop up from time to time. Just need to be lucky enough to be the first person to grab/find them....just like finding a "944racing.com" 968 Short Shift kit, or any other extremely rare long out of production part.

I'm down with that, perhaps Konstantin will run across one-but as it appears they're NLA then you're dealing with a small subset of owners, all of whom know what they have. I've seen hundreds of 968's, and only two of these in the flesh.

Its a personal thing. After driving Steve's coupe, I can really appreciate how buttery smooth the factory shifter is. Aftermarket shifters are notchy. It wasn't fun at the dragstrip either.

How many miles did you log on the 944racing short shift kit? a lot of aftermarket kits need some miles on them to break them in, before the really notchy feel goes away. I know i had this problem in my former '90 M3 years ago. Logged about 1,200 or so miles before it started feeling good
I'd be interested in picking it up and trying it out either way if you plan to sell one of them.

Like you said, it's not something you sell. No way of replacing it later.
If I ever do decide to sell, I have a few friends lined up.
Thanks for your offer though.

no worries, another short shift kit will be on the market in about a month & the 944Racing short shift may also go back into production. I'll just wait on which ever happens first & pick one up.

I seem to have a few "rare" items on my car..
944 SSK for the 968. LOVE it, ive had 2 + loved them both... I guess it all down to personal taste..
Dynatech strut brace,
Dynatech top mounts...

Fill me in here, what is so special about these short shirt kits? You can't just use any short shift kit for the 944?

They are special because no one makes a true short shift kit that actually shortens the throw. 944Racing was the only one that did and they are long out of production.
Design 1 should be releasing a True Short Shift Kit in 2-4 weeks that is actually better then the 944Racing SS. So the only plus to having the 944Racing kit is the rarity.
a 944 Short Shift kit cant be used on a 968. The geometry of the shift rods & input shafts are different between the two.

It doesn't seem like it would be too much trouble to get someone to make one of those.
I'm thinking of picking up a 968 trans for my 951 soon.
