NLA, from what I remember. I met a guy who claimed to have bought the last one from Porsche Motorsport (maybe five or six years ago at a NNJR PCA autocross) and IIRC it was over $2,000 then.

Yes as Damian states this is no longer available unfortunantly and even at the reported $2k, if it was still available I'd order 1 today.

I would as well. However, I somehow doubt it cost 2K for the strut brace. I can get an OEM Turbo RS front bumper & splitter with Kevlar belly pan for 2.5K.

Yes but many more of those will have been made mate as splitters and bumpers are consumables in race terms. I would hazard a guess that only about 10 of the 968 strut braces were ever produced and I bet the original moulds will have been scrapped a long time ago

That sounds reasonable. Now you need to get your hands on one & make Replicas.

The other thing i was wondering is if this brace will have clearance issues with the 16V head.

You may want to contact him. He prbably has some pretty rare parts up for grabs.
The link was posted on the other site.

Mate can you please send me a link to that thread if you can find it again or better still if you know the owners contact details then that would be fantastic

Buddles I am sure doesn't have the strut brace we are refering to though but I'm sure there are other parts I'd like to get my hands on!

If I could get hold of one I'd be reproducing for sure

I've already contacted the gentleman selling spare parts from bubbles. He does not have a spare strut brace (or i would have bought it already). He does have several other parts, including the Front Bumper/Splitter with kevlar belly pan i mentioned earlier.

As for reproducing it and getting a hold of one...I know someone that does have one on his car. Perhaps you guys could strike a deal and split profits if he alllows you to use his brace to make reproductions.

The factory stb I saw fit a stock 968 coupe; I don't know if any modification was done however. Just so we're all on the same page, it's the yellow carbon fiber piece.

Yes he is refering to the very same yellow version with the PORSCHE script along it. I don't see any issues with fitting a stock 968 as this one looks to provide more clearance due to it's bent upward design.

yes, the Yellow CF Brace is the one i'm talking about. I think Porsche made quite a few of these. I've seen pictures of a couple oem Turbo S cars with them(maybe an option), all the Turbo RS engine bay shots i've seen had them. RS Barns Factory Turbo S/RS has one. Plus they likely made extras for the RS Cars.

If you hook up with someone who has one and replicate them, i will be the first person to buy one from you.

Beni has contacts at the factory so I will ask him to see if the moulds are still available and try and find out how many were produced but I do know they are not available from Porsche anymore and have not been for a good many years.
