Congrats Shawn.
The article does not do you justice on what it takes to get something like this done. The amount of detail you put into this project is just impressive.

What a beautiful car. A labor of love and hard work. Best of luck with the sale.

I hate it when I see an article in Excellence of something like this only to see it up for sale shortly. That is a car to own forever and enjoy...

Thom, I do love the color but it would be a stretch for me to pick it up, but I've got fingers crossed for Shawn to get it sold.

Amazing.

I think the fantasy of most Porsche owners - and in particular the 924/944/968 group - is More Power and this car would seem to satisfy that wish in a BIG way.

I've never undertaken an engine rebuild or other serious wrenching so I can't imagine what something like this entails.

A question for the turbo owners - when you get all done with a project like this is the car drivable in everyday traffic? I love the notion of a boosted motor, but I also like that fact that the 968 is a very livable real-world ride and I wouldn't want to give that up. Does anyone use one as a daily driver? Are they reasonably bullet proof?

I'm in San Jose, so if you make it down closer to the bay I'd love a closer look.

It is truly impressive.

Good Luck with the sale,

Phil

Damian, go for it. This is a great bargain.
Phil, tuning determines driveability. It has to start with how you plan on using your car. If it's a street car, it's ok to compromise some all out hp/torque for better driveability.
If it's a track only race car, then you can compromise some.

If someone wanted to drive this car more than just one weekend a month I would do all of these things!

raise ride height back up around 1 " in front and rear to M030 specs
turn FQS switch back to normal timing and fuel %
install factory sport seats
swap out the 951 stage III spec clutch and aluminum flywheel for a stage I or equivilant and steel 951 unit

These things would turn the car into a tamed cruiser that still had 350 HP and would get a little better mileage! Start and stops would be easier and you could have your danish on the way to work!!!!!

How boring does that sound?

Shawn, I am really dying to see your car in person. Chances of me getting out to the west coast anytime soon are next to nil so I am hoping I can convince an east coaster to purchase it .
