MSRP and actual selling prices are not the same.
80% of cars are sold for less than sticker (yes even Porsches)
Considering a weak Deutsche Mark and the selling price of the competition at that time, I would think a good percentage of 968's were sold at a discount when new, otherwise they would not have had to use option code 718.

I don't have the window sticker but the CoA lists the price as $60,789 when new (http://members.rennlist.com/968redcab/cert1.html).

What cost $39950 in 1993 would cost $58354.42 in 2007
According to Yahoo MSRP Boxster
$45,800 - $55,700
And, the Yahoo MSRP Cayman
$49,400 - $59,100
Using the above, Damian's $56000 in 1995 would be $77403.47 in 2007
