Default Possible 1 of 1 968 cab 4 sale!!!

So, you want a possible 1 of 1 968 cab but you’re not into the obnoxious colors like mint green (yuck!!!). Well, our fellow 968er Spencer spotted an interesting cab and pointed it out to me and it turned out to be a very rare piece and possibly one of one. First the bad news, it is a tiptronic (assuming you wanted a 6 speed), it has 143,000 miles on it, it has no factory options (other then the paint and interior) and the dealer is in Washington state and they want too much money for it ($12,995). Now the good news, it looks to be a one owner car and in nice shape and is said to have no issues. But what makes this car really special is the color. It is painted in the 92-only L80D Cassis Red metallic, kind of a rose-silver. This was a special paint offering in 92 only and cost an additional $1600 on the sticker. Standard metallic paint offerings were only $803. The car also has the optional leather/leatherette (as opposed to the standard vinyl) interior option and you can see the seats have held up well. This is the first and only Cassis red car I have seen. It is kind of an 80’s color as I think it was used on of models during the late 80s/early 90s. It very well could be one of one because, of the 2008 cabs sold in North America, 667 were 92s and I have 181 of those registered and this is the first Cassis red car. If you like the car contact Dan at Landmark motors at dan@landmarkmotors.com or 425-861-1978. I’m thinking the car won’t sell for $13K but it could be a nice car at a better price. Pictures attached. Good catch Spencer!!! Photo links below.

I just love how much the unusual colors seem to cling to our cars. The only ones (sorry Renee) that I'm not crazy about are the purplish colors.

That's actually a pretty elegant looking car, minus the ghetto chrome wheels. Like you said, the tip is a big turnoff, though.

Perhaps, except when you buy a 968 Cab for your wife with a 6 speed and it ends up never being driven....ever.

Our 968 is tip, wife loves it, and with Powerhaus exhaust, Autothority Chip set, and K and N, it does it's job very well.

The color cassis red (cassisrot) was indeed offered by Porsche in the late 80s. I owned a 1987 Porsche 928S4 with cassis red exterior and burgundy interior. Personally I love the color but I had a heck of a time selling the car. Several potential buyers remarked that they didn't like the color. I believe it was also offered on 1988 models.

She hasn't had a chance to try it yet, since I dropped it off at my mechanics for the "go over top to bottom" work.
Should be picking it up late this week, transmission filter arrived from PAG damaged, so had to get another one.

Hey - I saw that car last month in Kirkland. That color is unique and really stands out in bright sun. If anyone is interested I live nearby and can check out Landmark motors and the car.

And for you folks that are down on Tips - I have to say - in the right gear - 2nd to redline and most of 3rd - speed 45 to over 100 - I stayed right on the tail of a brandy new Caymen S in a recent PCA Tour. Yes I know 0-60 he would lose me - and over 100 bye bye. But in that mid range and me not having to shift I actually gained on him. He used 3 gears shifting twice to my power on 6800 rpm single shift. And folks I have a Cab with two folks on board and full Picknic Lunch, lawn chairs and cooler! Any way you cut it this old 4 banger still has real Bang for the Buck.
And besides that - I love my Cobalt Blue .... which you can get on the Caymen...but it would not be faster.... :-)
