I'm looking to upgrade to koni inserts and a mechanic asked what type of shocks I currently have. I replaced the rears with konis so I don't remember. And, I don't think the front struts have markings.
Does anyone know, for MY 1992 stock suspension?

There are no Koni struts available for the 968. You have to buy the cartridge and cut the top off your existing strut and fit it. Paragon has a DIY on this.

Yes, I was going to get the koni strut inserts if my mechanic can't source the M474's. I guess that's why he asked what strut housing I had on the car now.

Is it a good idea change to springs if changing to koni's and M030 sways? Its a street/occasional DE car. I read not to lower these cars too much on a car that sees the track because of the weak ball joints. How much can you lower it and remain safe?

I have the HR lowering/sport springs and really like them. You can safely go about 1 inch lower (the CS springs bring you down about that much), I'm sure others will chime it. The 474 struts are available new from sunset porsche in oregon, they will just take a while to come from Germany.
