Agreed, and $30K is an expensive crap shoot. However, I can turn my own wrenches and am familiar with the 944 series, so the 968 shouldn't be a huge stretch. Decisions, decisions.

I've emailed Paul at Parcars. We'll see what he has to say.

Something to consider is boost can hide a spent motor. We have a few "experiments" run throught my garage from a turbo 350Z to a supercharged GTI VR6. The later made great HP #s even though the motor had blow by. It still ran strong but the bottom end was a time bomb.... at 30K it's too much of a risk if the info is not solid.

If you can do some work find a $15K modified car and turbo or SC it. That way you know the bottom end. It's not cheap but give me a solid car to start and it's money saved in the end. You could easily spend 5K more on getting the motor right depending on the cylinder walls, bearings etc... Who knows what short cuts were taken on the original build. You could be cleaning up someone elses mess and that may be why it's for sale... IMHO--- Mike

PS - my wifes a Gator and she said ....(edited)...... Good luck, I follow football so I am no expert on BB...see you in the Swamp

Thanx Mike. I have a couple of PM's out to people who have dealt with Powerhaus. Hopefully that will bear some fruit on the condition of the bottom end. I'm in the info gathering stage at present and appreciate anything anyone has to offer!

This car has a lot of nice goodies in it and I for one can appreciate some of the mods in the car. Its a shame that the PPI put a few question marks. To duplicate this car, it would cost close to double its asking price. The car does run well and pulls strongs.
It could also be a good buy if it turns out to be something minor like a new set of rings.
MJD, drop me a PM with your phone number. I might be able to put you in contact with some people that could help.

Well, after 3 emails and 2 phone calls I finally got in touch with Paul. Looks like there is a deposit on the car

Michelle,

There's a very nice white '95 968 coupe still for sale here in NY. See pix at the Paddock Racing website. www.paddockracing.net.

I believe the price is negotiable.

I know the car (I was the second owner of the car).

Thanks for the heads up Richard, but I think I'll start looking for a donor car to build into a turbo S. That car is waaaaay too nice. I need something that needs a rebuild that I can put lower compression pistons in and add a turbo to. Boost Feen had a nice Amazon Green that would've fit the bill, but that, too, is sold
