www.parcars.com still has John M's Powerhaus conversion for sale on their website. Wonder if he hasn't updated the web page or it's still kicking around. I know he does a lot of consignments so it's not his inventory $$ being tied up.

Thanks but I can't take any credit for the car other than buying it and making some minor changes.

Anyone who buys this car should have an additional $5k handy to sort out some of the issues. They might pop up or it could run for a while as is. The PPI showed numbers all over the place between the cylinders. Looks like the rings didn't seat well across the board.

MJD, I know some of this info because someone paid to get a PPI done and since I recommended the shop, they gave me some of the results. I don't have a print out or anything but one of the things that raised a flag was the numbers across the cylinders.
I can find out if they would be willing to share the PPI info since someone actually paid them to do it.

That car is a steal at 30K.
The problem with selling a moded older Porsche is identifying a buyer that can appreciate the style and workmanship that goes into it. The 968 has a relatively small group that even knows what it is. Throw in a 30K price tag when one can be picked up for half of that and your going to have to sit on it for a while.
BTW- Can someone loan me $20K Id love to scoop it up.

I was just going to say the same thing. It will be just like working on a 951, and rings on a 951 is not a bad job.
But, what if the problem is not the rings? Maybe the cylinders are scored? Maybe out of round? That could get expensive... It's a crap shoot.
